The first time she ends up at his apartment, it isn't actually for sex, though she does end up sleeping with him. Yuki isn't quite sure why she goes, but she sleeps with him to make Kyo jealous.
Kyo doesn't come to see her that night. Kyo hardly ever comes home anymore, and she isn't sure why she thought that this would work. Even if he's in the city, he doesn't always come to see her.
There's a wall between them, and she can't figure out what's causing it or why it just seems to be getting bigger and bigger. He says he's always gone for training, but everybody knows that Kyo is allergic to hard work. Yuki doesn't believe he's unfaithful, because Kyo has a large fan following and she would have heard about it.
That's the reason she goes back. She realizes that Iori isn't Kyo and that it's likely Kyo will never find out what she's doing with his enemy, but she also realizes that she doesn't care. Iori is the only man she knows that won't question anything, probably because he already knows as much-if not more-than Yuki knows about Kyo.
Before she realizes it, Yuki's going to Iori's more and more, and waiting around for Kyo less and less. She knows that she still loves Kyo, but he's never there. And part of her loves Iori too-maybe not in the same way, but she feels it all the same.
When she's pinned against the wall, her legs wrapped tightly around Iori's waist and Iori's mouth ravishing her breasts, his hands beneath her skirt, she forgets about Kyo and how cold he's been lately. It's only later, when she's on her back and she's finished, and she's encouraging Iori with caresses and little movements-because he always makes sure she comes first, without fail-that she realizes it's been six months since Kyo has made love to her.
She pushes the thought and the memory of Kyo away from her. She can't think of her boyfriend while her lover is inside her. And Yuki just feels like that much more of a whore when Iori comes, trembling, and she catches the quiet whisper of her name into her hair.
That night, Kyo comes to see her. Yuki tries to ignore the irony-she begins to heal from his desertion, and then he shows up pretending that nothing at all is wrong-and lets him in anyway. They order takeout and watch a movie, sitting side-by-side on her sofa but not touching. It was so different than it used to be.
When the movie is over, Yuki shifts, intending to put it away. Before she's off the couch, Kyo catches her wrist and she freezes, surprised at the contact and blushing like he'd never touched her before. She turns to look at him and he's smiling at her, his fingers rubbing her wrist in soothing circles.
Gently, he pulls her down beside him. “Yuki,” he murmurs, watching her closely for a reaction. “I'm sorry.”
She isn't sure who makes the first move, but the next thing she knows, they're kissing-hot, desperate and passionate. Kyo guides her backward to lie on the sofa, and she feels that he surely has to know. But he doesn't mention the bruises that she has that aren't from him, or that she is maybe a little looser than she should be after six months. She thinks that he surely has to know when he slides into her, but he doesn't say a word.
He stays that night, but Yuki doesn't sleep. She lies awake in the loose circle of his arms, wondering when her life got so complicated. Because now, she doesn't know if she'd prefer Iori or Kyo. She still doesn't understand how the affair got started in the first place, or why she'd let it get so out of control.
When Kyo slides closer to her, murmuring her name into her hair while he sleeps, Yuki realizes that she is crying.
