Still on a Zuka high

Phoenix Wright.Is.Amazing. -hearts-

While words just cannot describe it, I'm going to have a lame attempt at it anyway.

Guh, where to start? Okay so just the opening scene with the game music made it totally worth forking out twice the amount for tickets haha. The incorporation of the game music throughout the performance was excellent, including witness statements and Phoenix's deliberations.

The special effects using the projector were a great way to show off evidence, and it was difficult to focus on one part of the stage because there was just so much going on elsewhere to look at.

The storyline was good - I was amused that I picked out "who dunnit" extremely early on in the "case". There were a few good twists and turns, which made it more interesting than just pointing the finger at someone else, making it very much Phoenix-esk.

Tomu was...amazing. What can I say? Even though she was playing a character whose personality was already set, Tomu was still able to bring much of her own personality into her PW performance. -hearts- And she came into the audience! -SQUEE- And of course I was totally in awe and thus couldn't even smile at her. face palm action

She and Eriko worked so well together as prosecuting and defending lawyers, and I loved that Eriko was so cool during almost the whole court case. She was an excellent choice to play Edgeworth.

Masami's cold personality during the case was great too, but to me it felt a little like she didn't have as much stage presence as her usual performances.

I totally love the Tomu/Eriko/Masami combination. fangirls more

Oh and on an amusing note: Dai-chan missed the door when trying to close it XD.

So...erm...the songs were really good and catchy, the dances were great (especially Edgeworth's, with his clones XD), and all in all it was just a fantastic performance, an excellent version of the game while still keeping it's own individuality, and Tomu was love.

-hearts again-

So, I guess that was a pretty long fangril over the show, but I still feel that I can't do it justice. I wish I could go see it again :(.

On another note, Jules took me to demachi...and it was so cool! Mind you, considering I'm a "noob" in the Zuka world, it was hard for me to recognise the different actresses in normal dress, even Tomu haha! (Then again she was wearing a fedora AND massive sunnies...at night...). I'm going to join the Tomu fan club next month, but not sure when I'll actually do my first demachi. I guess it will be during Tani and Ume's last show, but I have to admit...I'm pretty intimidated/nervous about doing it, given my Japanese is...crap. I've been working on it, but I'm not happy with the level I'm at atm. I have to really knuckle down and study more everyday. But I guess demachi is just going to be awkward for me being a)a gaijin who b)can't speak/understand that much Japanese.

But I thought it was pretty cool that we can write them letters of encouragement :).

Anyways, I've rambled a lot this post. In fact, it's probably one of my longest LJ posts ever hahaha! It's too damn early to be awake, but I couldn't sleep coz I was still all psyched up from yesterday.

Also I bought a pile of Tomu stuffs including Tomu's Personal Book from 2007 -hearts-. Some amazing photos in it. I wish I had a scanner!

ANYWAYS...gotta stop! I feel like I'm a kid who's drunken way too much red cordial too early in the morning! And also...
