Momentary Gushing
I never thought that I'd like Stargate Atlantis as much as the original. I mean, there was Jack and Daniel and Teal'c, what more could a fan girl ask for? Even my mom had her favorites! I resisted the SGA lure. I mocked the Teal'c - Ronan similarities and blah to the blah about the show, but I caved on the fanfiction. Hey, I'm a slut for smut! Heh, I'm keeping that one. The stories had me leaning toward seeing the show, but I manfully resisted. I have enough fandoms! No, no! Don't make me!
Then, the great decider came along. My beloved brought home seasons 1-4 because I love SG-1 so much. Urgh. He got me. I love it. i especially love the team dynamic that was so lacking in the original. Trouble? Well, instead of one person *ahem, Daniel* staying up for days, alone, there's a whole contingent of scientist and military on stand-by ready to swoop in and whoop some ass! And really? The SGA scientists could take SG-1 scientists with one hand behind their back. Be careful, Rodney bites - Ronan taught him to. lol There's no whining about how Daniel souldn't possibly be right because he's not military and Sam is either.
This is not to say that I still don't love my SG-1! I refuse to watch past season 8 because Jack is gone, and I have all ten seasons plus the movies. Just give me my Jack/Daniel and my McShep and we're good.
P.S. I love the way Ronan laughs at Rodney whenever he whines!
