Sewing '08!
On Friday, i went to joann's fabrics with my mom to get materials to sew my dress for jon's winter formal. i wanted to get an emerald green material, because my design was somewhat inspired by this shiina ringo dress:
sadly, i couldn't find a nice shade of green in the material i wanted! in fact, there were hardly any green fabrics! i think i only found that right shade of green in some tool fabric (think of that wiry material used in poofy petticoats), which of course will not work for a dress. -___- so instead, i found a forest green colored fabric. i need to be careful with how i make this, or i may end up looking like a christmas tree!
progress so far:
well. my design was inspired by shiina ringo's dress, but i don't mean it to LOOK exactly like it. more of, when i saw her dress, i thought of exotic birds and stuff. my dress is inspired by a peacock! so maybe this darker green color is better for it! though, i do wish it had a nice iridescent blue shine or something! i really like the poofy v-neck in shiina ringo's dress, which i will do something similar to, but not quite.
went to Cue! with jon and ate at red ant cafe with his family.
Class starts for me tomorrow!! That's all for now!
