Most people have heard of or even participated in a Relay for Life. It is an annual fundraising effort for cancer research. I'm on a team here at work to raise funds via the following method:
Each team meber between now and June will run/walk as many miles as they can and will get as many people as they can to sponsor them or the team for some amount per mile. Our team goal is a total of 3,339 miles by the end of May (this is the distance run by Terry Fox in 1980 to raise money for cancer research). My personal goal is to get in 15 miles per week for a total of 180 miles. A donation of just 5 cents a mile would just be $0.75 per week for a total of $9.00 by the end of May. Every little bit helps and every little bit counts. If anyone is interested in helping out the fight against cancer, just let me know. Even something as little as a penny a mile is still something. No donations are too small. Thanks everyone.
