Yeah I'm still alive..
So I know I haven't posted anything in well over a month and I'm sure all you people out there living vicariously through my life via my LJ are on the edge of your seats wondering what is going on in my soap opera like world (ok not really).
Well the big things...
Pauline is back. We're back together after being broken up about a month. I'm happy about this. I'm happier than I have been in months. Say what you will, it's my decision and I'm happy to have her back.
Work is INSANE. The new year has arrived and it is everythign I knew it would be. I am and will be swamped for the next 4 months. I think I like it that way though. I've always worked best under pressure and I feel more energetic and productive when I have a huge work load to constantly work on. (so why am I taking time out of work to post on LJ?? who knows...)
Family life is going ok. I'm going to try to give more of myself to my family because I realize that it is very easy to take family for granted and that is something that is so regrettable when they aren't there anymore. Dan has a job lined up in Florida and will be going there in August. I am very very proud of and happy for him but it will suck to not have my bro around. Laura lives with me but is thinking she wants to go live with Mom in Vandalia because she hates school (LTC) and hates Robinson. I like having her around to talk to and laugh with at Duke and Millie.
Oh that's another thing. I got me a second basset hound!! I couldn't post anything about him on here because I didn't want Pauline to know until she got here (which was HILARIOUS by the way. She was soooo pissed! lol) He's a tri color but, he's mostly black and white. Just a little brown on his face. His full name is Lord Duke Wellington III, but I just call him Duke for short. He looks down right retarded. I swear this dog has to be missing a chromosome. His head is like half the size of Millie's yet his ears are bigger than hers and they are like perpendicular to his head instead of laying flat parallel to his head. His front legs are like... the opposite of bow legged. They bend inward. He has a pointy little knot at the top of his head. Laura says that's his actual brain and the rest of his head is just solid skull. I believe it. He's so ugly, he's adorable. He's more of a cuddly dog than Millie, but he also whines more. He whines as much as Millie barks. I can't tell which is more annoying. They are really fun to watch when they're playing together, which is rare because bassets are notoriously lazy. The only slight problem I've found is that Duke has a little bit of food aggression and will snap at Millie if she tries to eat out of the same bowl he is, which she usually doesn't. I'll get a picture posted later on.
The holidays weren't too bad. New Year's Eve sucked though. Pauline and I went to a family get together but it was basically just poker all night. Which I would have loved that myself but Pauline doesn't play poker, ergo I wasn't goign to be playing poker that night. So the night consisted of her and I just hanging out with my cousin and her bf who weren't playing poker and that was about it.
well that's about it for now. Hopefully I'll be back to updatign more regularly now. Peace
