stayed home today
Stayed home from school today.. this would be the 5th absence? I don't care.
So jazz band on thursday was unique in the sense that Chris O'Farril was director instead of Mr. O... anyway he's a big jerk, but actually was upfront with everyone and the SUCKINESS.
People are saying he's too tough and that he is mean and like a slave driver or something, but honestly-- this is JAZZ! Its not easy so stop pretending its supposed to be. If you think you can get by without knowing how to spell basic jazz chords im afraid jazz is not for you.
And i understand why everyone is confused--I mean, jazz is a totally different ballpark to most jazz music--but im there for jazz, not as a favor to Mr. O or anyone like alot of the kids there. The ones who answered his question "what is an F7b9/D" were people who actually take the time to listen to jazz. Me, Ben, Jesse, Ramone..a few others.
Anyone who couldnt answer and is upset---just move on! And if you want to get better, you can do it, one scale at a time!
Anyway, Andy Fals is hilarious and always will be.
Saturday i think i booked Lacquement time, and today, i plan on doing alot of homework interspersed with some of my Friction Addiction!! HAHA

Last week Uncle Ronald died and i saw my parents in a new way, and saw everything in a very new way.
At the memorial service, which was beautiful, i sang Redemption Song for the family because they asked me to sing for them-- it was really important--momentous i guess.
