Ullr loves me....maybe too much.
I got a day to ski! Yay! It is april, yes? That's in SPRING right? as in sunny days of spring skiing? Ha!
Today Ullr saw me making my way to the mountain to dance with him in his mountain home, and was so happy he decided to get a bit crazy. More snow! says he, and sends more of the powdery white stuff. Great says I and begin to dance down the mountain, braving the wind driven snow on the lift back up, but the snow it is my friend and loves me long time. I dance, I dare, I lightly spring from turn to turn, laughing as muscle memory and just relaxing allow me to return to some semblance of remebered grace. But Hel must have noticed my dance and become jealous! She sent more wind! and sleet! Just enough warmer that the snow became heavy and then she sent the wind down from the lifts to hide the safe trails I had so recently danced down! When that didn't send me home, she sent the snow snakes to trip my ski tips and cross them up! But did I fall gracelessly to the ground? No! Just once I gently hip checked just long enough to take my skis back from the terible snow snakes. Ha! Take that says I and merrily danced another couplet of runs daring the mightly snakes to try again. They did try, but I was ready for them and no more would I be thrown.
The snowing did not stop all day, but increased all day. The parking lot was slush an inch deep. Le Sigh. I miss Mt Bachelor.
