thoughts and a question
We went to the big IMAX theater at Bridgeport last night to see Watchmen. I think it may take a while to digest. The movie was less about the special effects than I thought is was going to be. Very Very dark, with some not very pleasant truths about human nature and a great deal of symbolism incorporated in the story line. Which is I suppose a trademark of the graphic novel genre to start with. Very sexy sex scenes. Very graphic violence against women in others. This brought up a question for me. I was raised to believe that violence is in itself wrong, and that violence against women or children even more wrong. I was also brought up to believe myself the equal of men and as such equally responsible for myself. So this begs the question, If I am indeed equal to men, do I have a right to expect protection by reason of my gender?
