So per advise from Best Buy Clackamas I took my keyboard and mouse to Best Buy Springfield. The lady at the customer service desk immediately told me to just call the number on the warranty. So that pissed me off, but I called while I was in the store. Then the lady on the phone said that it's the store's discretion to give a do an in-store exchange! So I said I would go check. I found the manager conveniently and ran it by him and he was nice, but he explained that if it was within one year, they would normally do it in-store, but any longer would be through the phone. So now I have to go through this stupid process, waiting for the shipping label 5-7 days, packing up the shit and sending it, then waiting for a gift card for 99.99, another 5-7 days. However, that is the advantage. I get a gift card, I can use it on whatever I want. So if Logitech has some new item out, I will probably upgrade.
This seems like a loophole too. If you are into upgrading certain gadgets every two years, you could just pay for the 10 dollar warranty and then destroy your unit when it's time to upgrade and get a full refund...
