****DISCLAIMER*******This is a VENTING post!! I realize that things probably aren't as bad as this!!*********
That being said, I AM feeling like there's pressure all around me this week.
Here's why:
- I am "student teaching", which means that people are watching you, scrutinizing you on every aspect of yourself
- your congeniality
- your punctuality
- your willingness to complete all tasks without complaining
- your knowledge and competence at teaching a course you may have not looked at since YOU took it 8 years ago in high school.
- your ability to not get stressed out while all of this is going on, to "think on your feet"
(I am understanding moreso why many people do not want to be teachers. I believe that I still do want to be one, however I know that I have a lot to learn)
2. While doing the "student teacher gig" 40 hours a week, I am also working some evenings and weekends.
- some days I leave the house at 7:30 am, and do not return untill 9:30 at night.
- A 14 hour day of dealing with people:
- I am responsible for their safety (at work, and school)
- I am responsible for their learning/mental/social development (school, mostly)
- I am responsible for disciplining them. (work and school)
Now, here's the thing.
I love people. I thrive in jobs where I get to communicate, interact, joke around, and resolve conflicts. For the most part I am comfortable being front of people.
But...
SOME DAYS I JUST WANT TO HIDE BECAUSE THEY DRIVE ME CRAZY!!!
