Vacation was pretty intense I must say.
So is the fact that I'm writing in my Livejournal. I haven't written in it in a long time. I've stuck to actual writing in my journal, so this is a good change.
So vacation was packed with events, which is crazy because, one - I never usually do much on vacation, and two - ehhh... pretty much the same as number one.
It was very exciting.
Friday through Sunday - straight after school my father picked me up. I hadnt seen him in almost 2 months which was great. The family went to New York for my grandmother's 60th surprise party. We ended up going to this delicious Italian restaraunt and I engorged myself with about 5 meals in one sitting. Oh I was spectacular. After we stayed the night in NY at my grandmothers house with Brad and Ben, who I havent seen in God knows how long. I also showed my Dad Myspace... big mistake. He likes it a lot. I wouldnt be surprised if he made one. He was surfing through random people's friend's and music pages. I swear he's my age sometimes. Sunday we went home to my dad's.
Monday - Car fixin time. My father and I worked on my car, went to a junkyard and got pieces that didnt fit my car, dropped windows on our fingers and ripped my car door apart at least five times. It was awesome. Sure the piece didnt fit my car but it was excellent bonding time. He just kept saying how much he enjoyed doing that kinda stuff with me. We got it ready for the road and I followed him home BY MYSELF! Crazy, I know. I got home in one piece. My car is pimp. I love it.
Tuesday - Crap. What did I do Tuesday? I belive that was the day of Mika's double header. Which consisted of field hockey, being scared in the car for our lives, ice cream (gracias by the way), and band practice. Twas a good day. I have found field hockey is lame and difficult. Both sides of the stick should be legal. Gay. Anyway. Kickball also took place, even though it was a massacre on our team. Kyle, Sean and I were an intense team. I really like Kyle a lot. I actually have been hanging out with him more and more lately. He's a cool kid.
Wednesday - I got my haircut. Yuck. I hung out with Jaci and Mike. It was great. We drove around and hung out and had just a chill out kinda time. I loved it. We drove through Merrimack and hit this crazy hill. It was nuts. I also worked Wednesday night, which some lame fag I know called out on. Jaci's lame. So I worked in the rain outside getting carts without a jacket because I forgot to get one and went straight to work from Newton. It was a tad bit cold. And wet. Aiden got in a fight with some Brain kid who was her ride. Me, feeling bad about the situation, offered her a ride, completely oblivious that she lives in Haverhill. Yikes. This led to me getting lost in the backroads of Haverhill at 10 at night. Mainly just because I'm retarded and miss highway exits and on/off ramps.
Thursday- One of my gay best friends got sick and couldnt come over from Keene. Colin was supposed to chill with me, which I was really really looking forward to, but he got sick and slept til 2. Loser could have called me, but he didnt. It's alright though, I just wish we could have hung out, I havent hung out with him since the police highway incident in January. 103 mph, that idiot haha. So instead I ended up hanging out with good ol' Christopher and Kyle. I spent most of my vacation with Christ now that I think about it, which is awesome because I dont get as much of a chance to hang out with him outside of band practice. It's been a while. We got ice cream and played ultimate frisbee on the plains. Later, those two took off and I rented the Departed and zoned out for the rest of the night.
Friday - Awesome day. We got to Sean's around 11:30 and jammed for a little bit. Then the four of us went to Wendy's and I got an infamous quadruple burger for the price of a double. Ah it was grand. Then Sean went to drum lessons and Mika Christ and I went to pick up Little Ev at school. It was mucho fun. Haverhill High is a really really nice school. Although, I've never seen so many school buses. About 20 of them. It was a lot. Then we drove around, got mike's paycheck cashed and went to Sean's to jam some more before the studio. I took a detour to pick my sister up from the Bakie and then got back to Sean's. Everything was packed up and ready to go and we drove to the studio in Haverhill and met Jason. He's a pretty chill dude. We did sound checks and got all the levels set for the instruments. AH THE EXCITMENT!!!! After setting up we went to Sal's and then back to Chris's where we watched Dead Alive and screwed around on the computer, kept awake by the thoughts of what events we were in for the next day (in a good way).
Today - We awoke at 8 and got ready for the studio, which consisted of changing shirts, applying deoderant, eating cereal and playing Wii. We got to the studio at about 10 and started to record. We got everything set up. The set up was pretty neat. There were three rooms. One had the drums set up and Ev's bass set up. In another room was Chris's guitar amp and etc. In the last room, my amp was set up and so on. We all stood in the main room with the drums and the bass and had headphones that played through what we were playing. It was so cool. We recorded all the instruments today in 7 songs, 6 which will be on the EP. Oh. We have named the EP "Thank You Nora". It's completely random and in a quote from an irrelevant movie. It's sweet. So what we mainly did was we laid down the main basis to the song, which we mainly focused on the drums. Once we had that, we listened to the track as a whole and figured where Chris Evan and I messed up. After getting all of that done, we went back and fixed/tweeked parts. It was really cool. So many people came too. Justin was there the whole time, along with Kamal, Evan's Dad, his brother Ian, this kid Joe, Chris's mother and father, Evan's mother, and Sara. It was intense.
Tomorrow should be awesome. We are going back into the studio for mixing and vocals. Mika's really nervous, but I think he'll do fine. I can't wait to mix. It's going to be so awesome! An EP! Can you belive that? Searchlight will have an EP tomorrow! I dunno, it's so exicting.
So overall vacation was awesome. I'm glad I got to hang out with the people I got to hang out with. I'm really disappointed I didnt get to hang out with Hannah at all. It's upsetting... Hopefully I will hang with her tomorrow after mixing.
I dunno, I just love hanging out with my friends. This is one of the best vacations I've had in a long time. Thank you all for making it that way.
How's that for an entry? Huge... I know. Hopefully it makes up for all the notwriting I've been doing in this.
Peace,
- ~D~
