how long has it been since i last wrote in this? i dont even remember anymore. it feels like i'll go months without thinking about this old livejournal and then one day i'll be in a certain mood and wish i had something to write in, then remember i have this. things have been kind of pent up lately so this might be a long one

i can't even begin to tell you how crazy it is that you put into words a lot of what I'm feeling.. and I know I'm not the only one. College was just.. so perfect at time. Home is a rollercoaster and it's super frustrating. All I seem to be doing is going to weddings of my friends, while none of my boyfriend's friends seem to feel the need.. and trust me, at 26 it scares the hell out of him. I also hate that my two best friends moved to opposite sides of the country and that I only see close friends once a month tops. Or that the money that could have been used to pay for my student loans instead paid for my parents lawyers and the separate house my dad moved into, making us all severely in debt.
As for jobs, yeah, it's luck. Not that it isn't skill also, but getting the right interviews and being the best qualified is rough. I'm super thankful I was offered a great position and have been working for a month now, but I spent the past year aggressively job searching only to be let down at every turn, lacking the 10+ years that everyone wanted. It was only luck that got my current employer to look at my resume. Have you tried hiring agencies? It's not ideal since it's super hard to be placed in your ideal field but it might be worth a try. I really like Aerotek and Page Personnel. Tell me if you want the phone numbers.
That being said, I AM around and we haven't hung out since like.. florida or something. hahaha. wanna watch some standup comedy sometime and catchup? We can see who else is free that night of course, but I'd love to see you and add some adventure to both our lives!
And as for people having their lives together- no one is ever as polished as they seem. Just because someone is married or employed, doesn't mean much. Besides, you may not feel like you've got it figured out but you have a great education, a set of valuable skills, and a steady relationship. Not bad at all!
