Last night was the end of Bye Bye Birdie. I'm so glad its over. It was not the fun summer diversion I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, the costumes and hair and theatre and overall show were awesome. Some of the people are too, but it's been painful. I don't think I would've survived this last week without him.
Last night my amazing boyfriend took me to the drive-in. We met Logan and Amanda and Kevin and Jenna and Jake and Emily and other new faces and saw Walle. Logan turned the van's sound way up so that we could lay on blankets outside. It was a little cold but awesome. We ate popcorn and cotton candy and blue slushy and watched the adorable robot movie. I was impressed with how much they did with two words of dialogue and beeps between two robots. And in the intermission while a pickle danced on the giant outdoor screen, we looked at a perfect patch of stars that the clouds had moved around. He held me through the whole movie and it was better than any movie theatre.
After that, we went with Daniel's friends from D.C. to Mahomet where we played guitar hero and sequences, a new game to me that I quite enjoyed. I kicked their asses too. By the time we got back to Matt's, I was utterly exhausted and we fell asleep together on the couch. Just me in his arms. I was late coming home and it didn't matter at all. I love him more than anything else. I never expected it to come so easy again. I never expected to feel so whole again. I love him.
It was the best date I've ever had.
If you were falling, then I would catch you. You need a light, I'd find a match. Cause I love the way you say good morning and you take me the way I am.
