Baby? [locked to Carlos]

Sam comes back from talking to Xander and slips in quietly, careful not to disturb anyone. He finds Carlos reading book with his ipod headphones on and grins, he looks perfectly relaxed. Sam scoots under his arm and plants a warm kiss on his lips.

"Carlos?"

Carlos sets the book aside and pulls out his earbuds. Pulling Sam close with a smile, he brushes his fingertips over his husband's lips. "Mmmm, got anymore of those kisses for me, angel?"

"Tons of 'em," Sam grinned and kissed his baby softly for a long minute. "I love you, sweetheart

"I love you too, baby." Carlos lifted Sam up and settled him across his lap. "You look like you have a secret. Spill it, beautiful."

[guitaraway]

Sam settled comfortsable in Carlos's lap and linked his fingers with his husband's. "I went over to Xander's this morning. He's dead, Masters is dead."

Carlos had known this moment was coming, Gavin had promised him and Gavin never broke his word, but he'd been unsure of what if anything he would feel. He held onto Sam's hand and took a deep breath. "Good." He said quietly.

[guitaraway]

"Yeah," Sam said just as quietly. "Its over, I guess."

Carlos wondered if it would ever truly be over for him or if Masters would still be crawling around in his head, but at least he never had to worry about the bastard trying to hurt Sam. "We're safe, baby."

[guitaraway]

Sam knew it probably wasn't over for Carlos but at least now he could sleep at night, knowing that Carlos wouldn't have to spend his whole life paying for being an abused little boy. "Yeah we are. I knew we'd make it."

Carlos tightened his arms around Sam and smiled. "I still have a lot of work to do, but I'll get there, sweetheart. With you behind me, I can't lose."

"I'll be with you every second you need me," Sam smiled and laid a kiss on him. "I promise you."

Carlos eyes stung with unshed tears, knowing Sam loved him no matter what was something that could still take him by surprise. "I love you, sweetheart."

[guitaraway]

"I love you too baby," Sam said, wiping Carlos's tears with his thumb. "I mean we should probably still talk with Jess and all, but everything's going to be cool."

Carlos smiled and turned his head to kiss Sam's fingers. "As long as we're good, the rest doesn't matter so much, but yeah I think we both still need to talk to Jess."

"I mean, I hope we never stop reaching in our relationship, even when we do feel repaired," Sam said sincerely. "I'm just glad that one of the biggest threats is out of the way. I wish he didn't have to be murdered but I don't know that he could have been controlled if he was still alive." The thought sent a shiver through Sam's body.

Carlos pulled Sam closer when he felt the shiver. "We're safe baby, that's what matters."

Sam put his arms around Carlos's neck. "Yeah, that's the point."
