Things I've learned as a gamer nerk of 30+ years

And yes, I've been playing since 1976. I've been RPG'ing longer than you've been alive.

- Nothing will get you kicked out of a game faster that attaching the surname 'Nerdbane' to your character. Yes, it's a old old OLD name name, but it's still true.

- The name 'Nerdbane' can be made to look more Fantasy by adding a j, 'Njerdbane' but the insult still is apparent.

- The Blood Angels will always be the coolest Space Marine chapter, followed closely by the Space Wolves. Deal with it.

- If you have to units of Samurai Archers and two units of Naginata Infantry, Shinano cannot be taken from you by skill. It can, however, be taken by dumb luck, because of Shogun: TW's annoying habit of having reinforcements appear randomly, sometimes in the middle of your formation.

- Guan Yu will always be the most kick-ass character in any Three Kingdoms-based game.

- Lizardmen make terrible player characters, even if they're named 'Phoebus'

- Bards suck more ass than a linedancing cowboy mummy.

- Fineus Fingers is the greatest Thief of all time.

- House Kurita rules!

- Creative Assembly seems incapable of making bad (or small) games.

- Prototype D&D and Prototype Advanced D&D remain the best versions of the franchise, in spite of the stupid magic system.

- Rolemaster may be calculus, but it's a lot of fun for thinkers. Deal with it.

- Lesbians are terrible RPG'ers, generally speaking. There are exceptions, but not many.

- Gay men, on the other hand, are surprisingly adept, even as Fighters. They make annoying Magic Users, since they insist on 'sparkle hands' to cast their spells.

- Godplayers should be dragged into the street, stripped naked and shot in the mouth. So should buddy-killers.

- An energy weapon-based 'mech will always outclass a missle/projectile-based mech of similar tonnage, in spite of the heat savings.

- Sanguinius is the coolest Primarch EVER. End of story.

- I will always own you, in whatever you challenge me at, RPGwise.
