For those not closely following this saga, I got two (2) 1-gallon jugs of orange blossom honey. The first one, pumpkin pie, was started last weekend. gcat decided a week was enough - we should have another source of CO2 in the house. Thus, I give you:



Coffee Mead

12lbs of honey + 1/2gal of Toddy extracted coffee (1lbs coffee). The extract is from a cold brewing system, so it's far less bitter than a drip or even a french press could produce. Since hardly anything went into it that won't end up in the final product, I dropped it straight into a carboy instead of a fermenter... that, and of all the air-locks I've got, only one has has a rubber stopper that fits the fermenters, and it got put into use last week. ^_^

wyngdlyon says her pomegranate tree is just about ready to be picked. Which means another trip to Kobey's for more honey and since I need to go to Home Brew Mart for yeast anyway, I can grab a stopper while I'm at it.

Then lather rinse repeat until May war where, as things are going, we shall have not only quantity of fine drink, but an interesting variety as well. Broinnfind, this is your fault - I won't be held responsible for any mead-induced hangovers. =P
