Cages

OK. I have three girl pigs, and I want to ask a technical question about cage size.

I know my pigs' cages are too small; that's why I'm asking. The only place I could put them in a larger C&C cage is 45 inches long by 33 inches high. This seems like an enormous size to me, and one that would make them happier than their current living arrangements. Is it enough for my three girls to live together? I was on guineapigcages.com and their requirement for three is, in grids, 27 inches by 71 inches. I'm not sure I could make a cage with my weird table size, but that is the only table I could possibly use for it.

Please skip the "omg you're a horrible owner, why did you get guinea pigs?" comments. Also please keep in mind that, at the time I got them, I'd shared the information on guineapigcages.com with my mom, who also thought such a cage was a great idea. So I adopted the pigs with their temporary cages, thinking we'd get the materials as soon as we could and build a cage. But as time went on, my mom became less and less happy with the idea.

One of the conditions on which I got them was to keep them in my room. But I think I can get away with putting them on that table, my desk, in another part of the house, if I could make the cage myself.

Yes, I know I should've built the cage first. And, yes, I know they would be so much happier with a large one that they deserve. But please spare me with the cage-size rants. Fear of those are exactly why I haven't posted this before; I didn't want to be attacked and embarrassed for a problem I desperately want to fix as much as you all would want me to fix it. I think this is the only problem I have; each gets all the timothy hay they could want, timothy hay pellets, aspen, veggies, love, attention and vet care.

Now I'm asking for advice and help. I'm not exactly sure what would help this situation. I just know it needs to be improved. Any suggestions for improvement are welcome. Thanks, guys.
