[ FILTERED TO KLAVIER GAVIN : 100% UNHACKABLE. ]Klavier.

I was told by a young lady that you were in residence, and I thought it best to contact you before I ventured further into this insanity. I don't suppose it would be possible for you to come and find me? I find myself quite unable to find my way around at the moment - though if what I have ( Read more... )

[ Klavier appears with a startle; he has his guitar in hand and appears to have been composing something. ]

You'd better have a damn good reason for interrupting my music session, Kris, and it had better be to the tune of "I'm going to tell you why I murdered an innocent man" in C minor.

[ He. Is. NOT. Happy. All those times you wouldn't talk to him before in prison? Really? And now he shows up like this-- ]

[ Well, that explains what point in time his brother was from. Kristoph's glasses flash for a moment as he pushes them up his nose, then a soft, almost hurt look appears on his face. ]

Klavier, I have no idea what you're talking about. Are you really accusing me of murder?

[ It's easy to lie to his brother, and there's no one who can even suggest that he isn't lying; no Apollo with his ridiculous twitching senses and no Phoenix to stare him down. Klavier was easy. ]

[ Just. So angry right now. Words cannot match his frustration... and worry. And confusion. ]

Do you mean to tell me you forgot just murdering an innocent man and framing Phoenix Wright for it?

[ He pulls a face of pure shock and hurt. ]

Klavier... I wouldn't frame Phoenix for murder. He and I have been friends for years - or have you forgotten?

[ This is the sound of utter denial and disbelief. Do you hear that guitar screeching? It's his fragile mind.

He's slipping into German now; unaware of it. Habit, you see, and he's angry and confused. ]

That's impossible! Cut the bullshit, Kristoph! I know very well what you did to him, and I don't know why, but...

... You belong in solitary confinement! And I'm going to see to it that you're put away for a long time if I have to!

Herr Forehead proved your guilt in court! And you framed Herr Wright for what you did when he was an innocent man!

[ Klavier glares into he screen, but the doubt he had is obvious, no matter how confident he sounds. ]

The only music you should be hearing here is the Jailhouse Blues! So don't you come to ME acting like my brother all of a sudden when you refused to even TALK to me before!

[ This? It was almost too easy. He knew the lines his brother would take; hiding behind outrage because letting onto the truth was too difficult. Accepting that his brother might be someone different (even though he wasn't, Kristoph noted with an internal scoff) would be far easier than accepting that he was a mass murderer, and he knew how to play his cards.

Klavier was like a well worn fiddle, the strings plucked and damaged beyond repair; only someone with experience knew how to use it. ]

[ Externally, nothing really changes. Kristoph seems to droop, looking more and more like his brother had held a gun to his chest and was threatening to pull the triggor. It was almost too easy, almost no fun at all. He slipped into German without a second thought. ]

Klavier, this all sounds like some dream concocted to turn us against each other. You know as well as I that the law is true above all else, but... This is sheer madness.

[ He actually looks mournful, more confused than ever, and deeply, deeply hurt. ]

I don't know what has happened to you here, Klavier, but I have awoken in a rather odd city to find my brother accusing me of murder, simoultaniously suggesting I framed a close friend for said crime. Surely you can understand why I am at a loss?

[ And, finally, what he hopes to be one of the final nails in the coffin. His reasons for ignoring Klavier whilst imprisoned were obvious, but here? He could speak. ]

As for not speaking with you - I cannot imagine why that would ever happen. You are my brother. I am always here to offer you guidance and support should you require it of me... I thought you knew that, too.

[ ... What... was he supposed to BELIEVE anymore? Klavier is silent for a very long time, simply... confused, and angry.

Why him? Why here? Why now? All he can think to himself right now is 'God dammit, Kris.' It... isn't very helpful.

Nothing is. He just doesn't know what to think anymore. ]

... I... I don't know what to think anymore.

[ He's just... he's so hurt. You were his idol, Kristoph. Everyone loved you; you were perfect. You had a good career, were the best defense attorney he knew, even helped Phoenix when he was disbarred.

Helped him prove he was guilty. Told him. Guided him. His brother was his world at one point, and... to be fair, although Klavier had grown up, to a large extent... he was still a good majority of it. ]

Family... is family, huh?

[ Now... his anger has simmered down. He's... lost the heart to demand the things he should; ask the questions he probably ought to, as a thorough prosecutor, and for an investigation. But it's his brother. And he wants to honestly believe Kristoph... could be helped; that he was more than just some killer. ]
