A/N: This is a follow on from my first Doctor Who fic Pockets. It didn't follow the path I originally planned, turning into the millennia-spanning demon below. Please excuse the formatting, I can't get on with LJ.

Lovely. Really very good.

Also I loved the sadness that Jacks part brings in...those tragic undertones that his existance must bring with it.

Beautifully done.

Thanks. In some ways this fic ended up being more about Jack than Donna, which rather surprised me. When I thought about it, it occurred to me that without having some kind of long term company through his life, Jack would have ended up totally crazy. As his friend Donna wouldn't be willing to let that happen, so that gave me pretty much the whole plot.

The ending made sense to me - originally Donna was going to head back to the Doctor, there would be angst buried under comedy arguing and off they would go on their merry, bicker-y way. By following Jack's story she ended up too damn old to go back to the Doctor with things just like before, so it occurred to me that she could help him become less human again.

I know, I'm still adamant that they won't leave Donna where she is now!

The creation story amused me, but seemed weirdly appropriate. (*dons her former archaeologist hat*) After all, all changes in a species come from a single mutation which has a positive effect on the organism. (*/end lecture*)
Dumping 10.5 and Rose in Pete's World and pretty much saying "go forth and multiply" is bound to have some knock-on effect in the future when their descendants have spread 10.5's rather garbled genome far and wide.

Both of these pieces are lovely. I dig regenerated!TimeLord!Donna. I really liked how you included Jack into Donna's life.
And I really like the ending.

The original story was posted in July and since then I've barely had any time to write, so this part took forever. In the meantime I've written two other Doctor Who fics which invaded my brain and kept me from this one, a rather silly crossover with Hitchhiker's Guide and a fic in praise of Marmite.

I'm not sure where I'd take a sequel, but I am working on a prequel to Pockets, and I have a few ideas for Donna's travels during Closed Loop. Hopefully it won't be another 6 months before I complete any of them.

Thanks! I have a few other stories floating around which will also fit in with the whole Closed Loop scenario, so hopefully there will be more about TimeLady!Donna to come.

Pockets was my immediate reaction to the end of series 4. I'd been writing Harry Potter stories for a while, but Donna's fate drove me to start writing Doctor Who fic instead.
