RULES:
1. Please be respectful. We are all here for the same purpose, so fighting seems a little pointless. NO and I mean no Out Of Character(OoC) drama when In Character(IC). If you have a problem with someone or something, please contact the Mods. No Public Bashing of Characters or the people that play them. We find that very unrespectful.
2. You need to have an AIM screen name and a Livejournal devoted to this RP. Please keep it relevant to your character name or something close to it. Make sure to have avatars on your livejournal account, or just a few at least. Everyone loves pictures, and so do we!! This helps other players remember who they are talking to easier, and cuts some of the confusion. BE AN ACTIVE CHARACTER!! Please make sure you update your journal frequently (every two weeks at minimum would be fantastic!!). It's only fun when other players know what is going on in the life of your character. Please denote between OOC and IC as well. You can do this through the use of ( ), [ ], or - - for OOC and nothing for IC.
(side note-- please do not just start rping with someone. It is very confusing. Talk to them first with a friendly 'hello, how are you?')
3. No MPREG or PREG. Sorry, but we really do not want to handle all that. And far as we are concerned, men can't have children. Incest is a possibility. Contact one of the mods if you are thinking about that storyline for approval. If you want to adopt a child, sure. Just talk to one of us mods before hand so we can know about the situation. If you want to leave the community, come up with a creative reason for your character to leave, we don't want you killing off your characters. Not fun if someone else can't pick up your character if you killed them.
4. All characters are accepted. That means musicians, actors, models, athletes, etc. If you are using a well known person, you have to use their names. PBs are for MySpace/VampireFreaks/ect people. We've also decided that if a character is taken that you like, you could challenge them if they are not active and take their rule. Just message us about that if you are interested in doing so. :]
5. Please be kind and talk to new characters. Make them welcomed and make this game more fun and less drama. You can make your character already know another character if they do know each other in RL. Whichever you and the other person decide, fine with us.
6. The sub community is important to join as well. Thats were all the entertainment happens. Hotels, Night Life, Shopping Stores, etc. are posted there to make this game fun If you have any suggestions, do not hesitate to create another!
7. If you are taking a hiatus, please mark it in your journal and come up with a reason for your character to be taking leave off of work. Please post this so we don't accidentally smite your character.
8. If there should be a problem and a mod has to do some removals, we will talk amongst ourselves and debate on the subject at hand. If we agree to remove a character, we will contact you via AIM to tell you that your character is removed.
--Regarding OoC drama
9. No suicides are allowed. If you are going to drop out, please come up with a better solution. This is a touchy subject and we do not permit it.
10. If you read and understand these rules please place "Detox Just to Retox" in the subject/title of your application.
11. Make sure to put a disclaimer into your journal's profile(this is manditory!!!) and try to put it into your AIM profile as well. It gets a bit irritating when people message you and they are all 'OMGZ! SO AND SO!' so if this occurs, please contact a mod and we'll try to sort it out.
12. Story book rping please. It's simple and the majority of rpers these days use this(or who I've come across). If you rp another way, tell the person you are rping so they understand what's going on and they wont be confused. It's happened to me and out of kindness, I've rped the way they have, but it is difficult to change the way you rp.
13. Think you can play a character better than someone else? Why not Challenge Them!! In this community, we allow people to challenge your character status. If someone thinks they can play your character better than how you are doing it, we allow you guys to do a double duel. First, you must let us know who you are challenging. Both you and the person you are challenging, will email ShakeItUpnListen@hotmail.com with about 1 or 2 paragraphs of your character. Make it good so we see how both of you will play that character. We will post the paragraphs in the OOC community and let the community vote on who is better. From there, we will decide who gets to play who.
14. No more than 2 characters. It isn't fair to other people who are interested in the community if all the characters are taken. For those who are already in the community, we ask you to limit yourself down to two characters. Please pick.
15. MODS ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM UPDATING THEIR JOURNALS. THEY MOST UPDATE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
16. No Rule. Just for Lindsay, since there is an odd number here. She has an OCD problem. :)
Lastly, just have fun and try to keep back on the drama. No one enjoys it.
