KFC is so much better in China than it is the UK. Even the batter is different, You get prawns here, the chips are nicer and it's so much cheaper. And the portions aren't monumental, so you don't feel like you're going to explode afterwards. Which is just as well, as KFC's are bloody everywhere!

It is really big here. As is Costa Coffee, which is more than a little annoying as that happens to be where I work. I keep wanting to go in and see if the Lemon Drizzel cake is the same as it is in the UK. Most likely it is, but the most annoying thing is that what was one of my favourite bars here in Beijing, has now been taken over by costa coffee. I mean, yes, they always got your drink wrong (well, nearly always) but the drinks were nice and cheap and it was under that giant tv screen I told you about last time. Still not been to watch that yet, due to lack of decent bar to sit at!

I have been extrodinarily lazy on the tourisim part. The most touristy thing we've done was head over to the silk market for a bit of shopping, but since our shopping goal was shirts and underwear for Lewis, it was more like heading to primark to argue over the prices. We managed to get three nice linin shirts for him, and also ended up buying a dragon sort of frame thing made out of bamboo. It's for my flat, I'm going to hang it up by the front door I think, or maybe get another one and hang them up either side of the fireplace. They really are gorgeous and I must take photographs.

The weather has been madly hot. I don't think it's dropped much below 30C, even at night. The sun is struggling to get through the BEijing Smog, which is a blessing I suppose as it making it less hot by stopping more sun getting through. Or stopping us getting quite so exposed to UV, I don't know which. It is still hot though so I hurry to somewhere air conditioned every chance I get.

I went to the doll shops to price some dolls for folk - which has been largely unsuccessful as I have not been able to find the dolls folk want or the price wasn't good enough for them. I am nervous about going back now as the girl in Spiritdoll was all up for rushing an order through for me - so I think I will go aplogise, try and explain I was asking for a friend (difficult when she speaks chinese and you speak english, gah!) and buy a shed load of clothes to sell on. xD  The other thing about the doll shops, was that in one of them the girl that owned the shop had two chihuahua's that were seriously smaller than my guinea pigs. They fit in the palm of my hand. They were adorable, but very very tiny. My boy Squeeky could've beaten them in a fight by sitting on them. They were so, so small! I hate to think of the vet bills that much inbreeding would entail. When I go back, if they are still there, and permitted to, I will take photos. Tiny, tiny, tiny dogs.

Lewis' dad is doing pretty well in his treatment. We're hoping he'll get sent home this week and he is doing surprisingly well, so this is all good news. And the hospital food at the hopsital was simply awesome. My lord, it was good. We've actually eaten very well this holiday, so much so I'm sure I'm getting pretty fat. D=

So today....I dunno what we're going to do. Maybe head out to Wangfujing street and do more...shopping. xD Jay, Lewis' little brother has an exam today so best of luck today....

And hopefully my next post will have some photos!

Hope you are all well
