[ The video feed shifts on, and here's Klavier. He seems to be thinking of some sort of song in his head, because it seems like he's also looking for the best way to phrase what he wants to say. ] I've been to a lot of out of the way places to study foreign legal systems; tiny countries. Perhaps no larger than where we are now, even... and yet they

I agree. So far, we haven't had much trouble, but if kind people can be drawn here, the unkind might appear as well. Now that we're here, we should do whatever we can to keep this place safe. Until we find a way out, Vatheon is our home.
I'm not a knight or anything of the sort, but if you ever have need of healing magic, please feel free to ask me.

That's exactly my point. Though speaking with one of the residents here, she seemed far too positive, but I'm a realist.
[ He chuckles absently. Magic? He doesn't really believe it, but he won't correct her. ] I'm not a knight, either--nor am I a judge. It's my job to make sure threats to society are locked up tight; that's what being a prosecutor means to me, aside from revealing the truth.

[ Why yes, those are lyrics he's singing. ] Ah, the Jailhouse Blues. We'd hardly have the Blues to sing if we lack a jail to compose the music in! How right you are.

Perhaps if we find some construction workers, a jail could be built. The locals are very helpful, so they may be willing to pitch in.

[ You have been officially nicknamed. Learn to love it. It was going to happen eventually one way or another. ]
I'm sure they'd be quite agreeable. They want us here for whatever reason, so making us happy is paramount, is it not? I think they can spare a building. It's my hope we don't have to use it; perhaps caution will be a deterrent unto itself.

I wonder who we'd have to approach about such a matter. Perhaps the High Priestess herself? She seemed the most talkative of the locals.

[ To be honest, it's because your hair is pink. It reminds him of, well, a flower. ]
She's probably a busy woman, but it can't be that difficult to get an audience.

I have it in good faith that I'm not the only prosecutor here who's going to agree something needs to be done; Fräulein Von Karma will likely agree, no matter what she thinks of me.
[ Or if she tries to whip him. Which she probably will. ... And always does. ] I haven't spoken to her brother, but I'm sure Herr Frills will, as well. I just need to FIND him. I think if a group of responsible, level-minded adults approached this Priestess, she would take the matter as seriously as I'd like her to.

Oh, don't worry about it. You don't have to be in law; it's just a very well-respected career to have... well, where I'm from, at any rate.
[ There's a pause. ... Perhaps he should elaborate, so she understands. ]... Whether you defend the innocent or place charges on the guilty, one must be logical and have a clear mind to be an attorney. Which is what I do. The technical title would be a "prosecuting attorney," but that's a mouthful, so usually we're just referred to as prosecutors.

[ ... He just laughs, and plays a bit with his bangs. ] Ahaha, I guess that's a lot to take in, I apologize. ... At any rate, it would be my pleasure to have someone so kind come with me. After all, your heart is in the right place; that's what counts: sincerity.

Thank you, sir Klavier. Please let me know when you intend to depart for the Church and who will be joining us when the time comes. I'll make sure to be prepared.

[ He chuckles, completely light-hearted despite the seriousness of what he wants to do. ] ... And please, stop with the 'sir' thing. Mein Gott, is it making me feel old! Goodness forbid, I can't stand being so formal out of court.

[Which is tough, because she tends to lapse back into formal speech unless she knows a person very well.]
