I love this song and video... so much O.o hahaha...
I mean, I do really like the game, though I don't play it much. It's not about that, though. The feeling I get when watching this is like peering into the soul of the late 90s, finding all the joyful things that were happening because of the advent of technology, and the culture that found itself flourishing because of it. I was so in love with it back then that this really strikes a chord with me. I mean... it's kinda super cheesy, but once you stare into it, and let your predispositions towards the sound fade away, it's so easy to slip back into the place where you knew what this spirit was celebrating, and how truly magical it felt back then. I find myself yearning to crawl back into that space sometimes... not the era, but the touching point that it represented, that it could have been the first sounding of. A great deal of my work centers around it. I can tell by the way I virtually seek citizenship anytime a new game comes out and I've found that there is a song that works in just the right way, and suddenly you can see that there was actual magic going on in the hearts of the people who put it there. Living in a song... the only rent is a hangover.
