The weekend.
In case you didn't know, I spent the weekend at bria_ferguson's in Carson City, NV. Long drive to get there but way worth it. I had a great time, got a little sight-seeing tour of Carson - not much there but it's nice.
Friday night we went over Bria's friend & co-worker Beth's apartments for a St. Patty's day party the complex was throwing. Beth is very nice and very attractive. First Bria, now Beth - I'm beginning to wonder if I should move there and get a job at that office.*l*
Anyway, getting past my libido - Saturday we drove around Carson a little, then went to Reno where we checked out the new mall and I got to watch Bria get all excited over the pretties at Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma, then it was off to the Riverwalk where we watched some St. Patty's festivities, then went and saw The Libertine, which was a very good movie but took an unexpected turn and ended up darker in tone than expected.
Which led up to the following sadly funny happening in the weekend movie watching - SPOILERS for The Libertine, Rent and Gia if you haven't seen them and were planning to...
OK, so in Libertine Johnny Depp's Earl of Rochester dies of syphilis at the end of the movie.
Then, we went back to Bria's and ended up watch Rent in which several characters have AIDS and one of them dies - my fav character, in fact.
Then Sunday, after a lovely drive up to the Lake, we went back and popped in Gia... she dies of AIDS at the end. Of course, both this and Libertine are about real people, so I guess it's our own fault for not knowing all the sexy fun was going to LEAD TO DARK, DEPRESSING ENDS!!!
So, after that we popped in The Island. Yay! Bria got to drool over Ewan and I got Scarlett. Yum! A fun sci-fi/actioner with a happy ending! A nice change of pace.*l*
Anyway, we spent the rest of the day just relaxing and watching movies and Farscape, West Wing, Grey's Anatomy.
Then, sadly, Monday morning Bria had to go back to work and I had to come home.
