Just backing up what other people are saying here! Also, adding that playing Maladict was really just... somewhat of a chore and occasionally unpleasant for me for a number of months. And in some sort of strange self-reflexive thing, the fact that he was awkward for me to play got associated with him for me, so even when I got comfortable with the character, for a good while, he just was my least favorite because he'd gotten unconsciously labeled as The Difficult One. And the only thing that really cleared that out for me was time -- it wasn't even something that I noticed happening, but... god, it might have been after I'd had him for over half a year, but eventually I just noticed that that strange awkwardness that I'd had with him had disappeared.
To be honest, I have the least emotional attachment to Mal. I would have killed -- or at least been willing to be in a multiple app battle -- for Tatsumi... but Maladict, it was more just "oh, hey, this would be fun!". But I didn't drop him because, even though it took effort to bring him out and I didn't always feel comfortable playing him (even though I felt that I had the voice, etc.), there always did end up being enough fun to make the effort worth it.
And regarding the Cat idea! It looks fun to me, though I can't think of anything for it at the moment. I actually hadn't been aware of it! I haven't been able to keep up with CFUD things as well as I used to because of my internet situation, so there are more things I either just miss completely or see but... don't really process because I'm brain-dead or trying to skim a lot of things at once. Have you thought of maybe organizing some sort of camp thieves event? It could both be fun and (OOCly, at least) increase the visibility of the Cat thing.

We linked it from CFO when we first got in, but I have to remember that not everyone sees it that often. I should probably make a general mess hall post when we first put it up or something so more people see it! I'm not sure how to do a camp thieves event with thieves who are trying to keep their identities laying low, but there's gotta be some way -- maybe some kind of "thieves day" where all the thieves spontaneously decide to break into the same place at the same time, or organizing a public post where people are willing to try to interfere without godmoding it. (Ie, no "I see you!", but lots of [rounds the corner right then] [O-oh no I have to drop off the balcony and hang there and hope you don't see my fingers!!])
