Proposal for Hegel Reading Group

Preface:

Consider this a proposal in the literal sense that I hope that others will offer their comments and suggested amendments, or offer their own proposal if their suggestions vary greatly from these. Where I sound overly formal, read my intention as for brevity!

I'm in the same boat as you RE: the fall.

The Stern commentary looks good, I'll consider getting the ebook (as much as I hate reading on my laptop).

Doesn't look like we're getting any volunteers for session leaders other than you two. Not sure if interest has evaporated or if this just turns out not to be a good time for others. Do you guys want to go ahead with the three of us leading and see how it works out?

I'm willing to try. I feel less confident being pretty unschooled in Hegel, or the continental tradition in general, but I've been reading the preface and some other articles to try and get a grasp on it.

I think part of the problem here was not checking guided_readings until I saw your post about it. I wouldn't mind doing a session or two in the next few months, but I'd have to be more around late June and whatnot because of the son, Kindergarten, and all the angst that entails. Are we planning a session to be centered around a particular topic, i.e. "Consciousness", "Self Consciousness", "Reason" and all its subsections? Seems that would the logical approach to the text.
