What's love got to do with it?

My trip to Philly was nice, and Amal got me the fantastic milk frother that's been on my wish list forever. So I got my dose of urban culture, not to mention some decent Indian food at Cafe Spice, but today I woke up so cold and the weather looked so miserable outside that I just stayed put, which led me to waste good many hours on the Waste Land ( Read more... )

Oops. I guess I should have seen this coming. Anonymous bashing seems to be impossible online, eh? Glad to see you didn't take it too seriously, b/c nothing I write should be.

But honestly, you should be flattered that I consider you even "fairly" good-looking. I was feeling generous.

Any tips on avoiding guys like you? Oh wait, that's easy, just look as ugly as possible. ;)

Ouch!

...

Okay, I deserved the "not classy" comment, but it was not personal. Or maybe, I just thought it was a shame a person seemed so superficially preoccupied when he had so much potential--and who knows, maybe you are all that I think you can be, and this LJ is simply a twisted alter-ego medium for you strictly for amusement.

Since I did violate a protocol I usually adhere to, my apologies.

Advice from a personal "real-life" friend of badcake's: Don't be so quick to accept everything you read online as fact, or judge people based on a few journal entries. It's easy to assume the worst about someone. People are always quick to judge, and reluctant to actually take the time and get to know others before forming opinions. Eric is a smart, generous, and talented guy (albeit, only fairly good looking. haha, j/k Eric). He definately has more substance to him than the superficial, girl-whoring, alcoholic you see him as.

Kali--
I wasn't judging him, only his (night) lifestyle as represented in the journal. It's the lifestyle I've known and left, and that's where my personal bias comes in--like I said, my "criticisms" weren't directed against him personally, maybe except for the spelling!

But I am very aware of the fact that this medium only represents a mere fraction of its authors. I know your advice is well-meant, but a little misdirected--I did not judge him as a person--I only thought it was a shame that so much of his journal (not his whole being!) centered around superficialities, which made me sad b/c he seemed otherwise talented, etc..

Boy, seems like I committed a bit of a LJ faux pas!
