My upcoming trip to Cali

Feb 19, 2007 23:20

So almost anyone who has talked to me in the last few days knows I've been planning it. I'm just making a post to see if anyone else feels like going to. The plan is to leave on the night of the 20th of April to LA. April 21 is Disneyland day and the next day (April 22) is Knott's Berry Farm. Most of the people I know haven't been there in ( Read more... )

There's a couple places I'd like to hit food-wise. One is Tommy's for burgers (according to the Chowhounds we should have gone there instead of Pink's for chili dogs last time!), another is a SoCal chain that had a short-lived location here that I greatly miss, called Pat & Oscars (www.breadstick.com), and if we somehow leave Knott's without consuming copious amounts of fried chicken at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant, well, we just didn't do Knott's properly.

I would love to go Clearman's North Wood Inn (http://www.clearmansrestaurants.com/northwoods.html) when we're there because I absolutely love the food there and I haven't visited one in over a year. We (Tony/Kyle/Thomas/Myself) have been debating whether we want to go to Knott's Berry Farm or go to California Adventure. Partially because most of us want to lose weight before trying to fit our wide asses in the seats and because we want to try to get as much as Disneyland covered as we can and may have to go for part of a second day. I would like to go to Knott's Berry Farm but maybe a few months later when we can also go to Six Flags perhaps?

Darn it, ya had to go on a weekend... That's going to be one lonnnnnnnng day for me, unless someone else is driving on the way there. The one bright side of going to Disneyland on a Saturday is the OMFG amazing fireworks, which could very well be worth battling the Saturday crowds.

There is one thing that sounds ridiculous to worry about, but worth noting... Space Mountain is currently Rockin' Space Mountain, featuring light effects and the music of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their music playing on the ride is enough to kill it for me, and if Space Mountain isn't on the agenda, it just ain't Disneyland to me. Thankfully, RHCP is off Space Mountain on the 27th. Hint hint.

We were trying to avoid going towards the beginning/ending of the month and all of the people I know have heard the new Space Mountain music, so it doesn't bother us either way.

I've heard the new SM music a kabillion times at least, but I have yet to hear it in its native environment. Suffice it to say, I'm seriously jonesing to.

Bah... we'll change the dates, after standing in line for an hour as it is for the ride, I don't want to listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers tell me how great California is on a rollercoaster. So now I have changed the dates to 27-29 of April
