So had a relaxing weekend I guess. We didn't do much of anything. We went for drinks on Friday, which was fun, especially since I don't really drink that much anymore. And because of that, Saturday morning was a little tough.
Saturday I went to a vegan restaurant with
fiver00 and our next door neighbours that I've been wanting to go to for a while. The neighbours paid as a birthday present to
fiver00 . It was incredible, so we think we will definitely be going back.
Other than that, we pretty much stayed in and played with the kitties. It was too friggin cold to do anything else. I don't think we have had a day where the low was above -20 in a few weeks now, and looking ahead it doesn't look much better. This is the worst time of year to live in Edmonton. As the rest of the country starts to see the first signs of spring, we sit in a deep freeze for another month.
Work is transitioning for me for the first time in a couple of years really. I've been focusing most of my time as the lead business analyst on the same project for the last few years. Now that project is wrapping up and going into production, so it will be time to start working on other things. This is both good and bad. Good in the sense that I will be starting something new, and learning new things with new people etc. But it will bad in the sense that I'm not sure that I will be working in pure BA tasks. Although I was hired for my GIS expertise almost 5 years ago, I have done almost nothing in this field in the last 3 years. So needless to say, I'm a bit worried to be focusing on the geography again now that I have been out of the loop for so long - especially when considering how much the industry has changed in the last few years.
I guess time will tell. This week is likely to be a challenging one.
