Wow, I have too much food.
So, first of all, everything went wrong today. My wallet managed to misplace itself until this afternoon, which should not have happened (I have, you see, a system designed to prevent such things, and said system has been quite effective so far). And after the panic from that wore off, I discovered that my freezer was broken, and as a result, everything was thawing. I called the manager of my apartment complex, and was told that a repair person would not be out today, or tomorrow, or even anytime soon, because of "the backup from the winter storms". So I"m now added to the queue they claim to have. Grr... that's just wrong. Fortunately, my lovely friend
neptune was kind enough to allow me the use of his freezer, so I hopefully won't be losing a lot of food (which translates to money, when you're as poor as I am).
This evening, I made okayu, which is basically a sort of thick rice soup. I added herbs and spices and some meat and vegetables... but I made *way* more than I thought it would be... so now I have a large pot of soup, and a medium saucepan of more soup. Does anyone want free food and company (such as it is :P )? It's by no definition gourmet, but it is food, and I also have chocolate truffles that someone should help me eat before I wolf them down myself.
More classes tomorrow. Yippee for math! :P
