Sweet Doughnuts: (3/3)

***
The rest of May rolled by quickly and it was June too soon, it seemed.

When June arrived, Jaejoong’s stomach was perfectly rounded and Junsu was infatuated with it.

Yoochun and Yunho were out most of the time shopping for things that Jaejoong rapidly took in (Almonds, carrots, ham, things of those sorts).

Yoona and Taeyeon had grown more comfortable around Changmin and spent the majority of their time bothering him while Junsu told Jaejoong all there was to know about raising children.

July was month seven - the month Changmin had expected Jaejoong be ready to give birth.

It wasn't until the middle of the month that Changmin called into the hospital and ordered a room be put on hold for Jaejoong. Said man was complaining of severe back pains and Changmin was getting extremely concerned.

“Since I've never dealt with male pregnancy,” Changmin stated, “I can't tell if the baby is pressing in a spot he's not supposed to be. I'd like to have a doctor monitor you for the next couple of weeks until you have the baby.”

So Jaejoong spent his time in the hospital, waiting patiently as the days rolled on.

And at 29 weeks, Jaejoong was finally ready to have his twins.

***

“Ah! F-fuck, Yunho! Make it stop!”

Screaming, Jaejoong gripped tightly at the sheets around him, sweat rolling steadily from his forehead as pain began to shoot up his spine. His whole body was aching with a horrible sensation, one that he'd never come close to experiencing before.

Yunho jumped instantly from his seat, leaning haphazardly over the bed and wiping Jaejoong’s forehead with the back of his hand.

“I'm sorry, baby. I can't.”

Gritting his teeth, Jaejoong tipped his head back against his cool pillow, barely feeling the temperature difference between the fabric and his own heated skin. He needed something else to grip. Something easier to squeeze.

As the door flew open, Changmin rushed in, followed by a nurse.

“Can't you give him something?” Yunho asked, taking Jaejoongs hand.

“I'm sorry, but we can't. We've never dealt with anything like this before. It's a very risky situation overall and to give him any drug that he hasn't already received in his lifetime could impose a major fault and/or complication with the surgery. He could be allergic to it, Yunho. If you could just hold his hand, they're preparing his room. He'll be in there in less then two minutes.”

Yunho cringed as an agonizing scream tore itself from Jaejoong’s lips.

At a loss for what to do, Yunho screamed, “God, Changmin, just help him for Christ’s sake! Don't do this to me!”

“You say that as if you're the only one that's scared here, Yunho!”

Yunho let go of Jaejoong’s hand to reach up and pull at his hair. “You're the professional! You're not supposed to freak out!”

“I'm the professional how? I already said I've never done anything like this before. I've never done this before, remember? Nobody has. I have a right to be worried for Jaejoongs health and safety. It comes with the job.”

“Mr. Shim, we're ready.” A nurse peeking her head around the corner waved him to her. Two men walked around her and moved to the bed, hitting the 'unlock' button on the side of the wheels and beginning to push the bed from the room. As Changmin conversed with the nurse, Yunho was led by one of the assistant nurses in another direction.

“Where am I going?” Yunho asked, looking behind him and watching the bed be wheeled away from him.

“Same place, different direction. Jeans and a sweatshirt aren't allowed in a room when performing sugery unless covered. You can't be in the room until you're dressed in the proper attire. You're going to need to put on several things before you can enter, but we are going to the same place.”

“I'm going to be there the whole time?”

“If you want to be. During a C-section, a spouse is allowed to be in the room when the birth is taking place. He won't be awake. This won’t be a sterilized c-section. As the Doctor said, any numbing medication normally given during the birthing process Jaejoong could be allergic to. On his files we have proof of all the medication he's ever been given and It's just easier on everone if we were to put him to sleep so that it's nothing dangerous. We just don't want any more complications, is all. This whole surgery is already a foreign thing. So... if you wouldn't like to be in the room, it can be arranged. It's completely understandable.”

“I... I don't know.”

“Then how about this. I'll take you to see him before we go into the surgery. You'll see him afterwards, as well, of course. This way you get to see him and you aren't as edgy. Once the surgery is done, we'll notify you."

Yunho nodded, wiping his sweating hands on his jeans. The nurse led him to a room with white walls and tables lined with tubs of sanitary garments.

“I'm going to need you to walk down the line and put everything on, okay?”

The tubs were lined in order of what to put on. Special pants, special shoe coverings, special shirts, a hair covering, gloves, everything was there.

“This is considered surgery, you know.” The nurse stated, looking on as Yunho stared at the tubs. “You'll need to rinse your hands before you go into the room, too. So let's get moving.”

“I'll only be in there a moment.” Yunho argued.

“I know, but it's standard procedure.”

Yunho moved. Quicker then he ever had, in fact, with memories of Jaejoong worried and helpless without him. Screaming and crying with no one to hold onto. Just the thoughts that flew through his head got him in his booties and cap in under a minute.

He almost ran the nurse over trying to get in the room before her when he saw the doors with Jaejoong’s named listed outside of them.

“Now, hold on.” She said, putting out her hand to stop him. “Be careful.” and she slowly pushed the doors out of her way, stepping into the room where Jaejoong was still laying on the bed. Yunho trailed in slowly behind her, peering over her shoulder to see Jaejoong laying on the bed as he had been minutes before, the only difference being his peaceful features and closed eyes.

“He's already asleep...” Yunho sighed contentedly, looking around to see a familiar face. “Ah! Changmin.”

Changmin looked up quickly, smiling briefly at Yunho.

“I'll take care of him, Yunho.” Changmin said, smiling behind the mask over his mouth. “Now get outta here and let me do my job.”

***

Yunho passed out when he left Jaejoong’s room, though why it happened, he couldn't tell.

The nurse reached out one second too late and Yunho's head caught the side of a chair.

The other doctors had him moved to his own room.

***

Bright lights woke him hours later before he realized where he was.

Jumping out of bed, Yunho began to shake, fear of the worst overcoming his other senses.

Bolting from the room he found himself face to chest with Jaejoong’s doctor.

He fell slowly to the ground for the second time that day.

“Changmin! Shit! Where's Jaejoong?” Jumping back to his feet, Yunho made an attempt to look for the room himself. Changmin grabbed him by the arm, holding him in place.

“He's awake and the surgery went fine. Congratulations, Jung Yunho, you've got two beautiful girls.”

“Girls...?”

“Yes. Girls.”

“I thought they were going to be...”

Wonky for a moment, Yunho tipped and leaned to the side almost losing his balance again. Fortunately, Changmin's agility was much better than that of the earlier nurse and Yunho was held up by the arm. “C'mon, daddy. Let's go see those girls.”

***
Jaejoong was hurting.

Not that he cared, it was just frustrating.

Yunho was off somewhere laying in a hospital bed because of him and he was going to get up and find his husband whether these damn nurses wanted him out of bed or not. Arguing usually got him his way, but these nurses weren't budging.

“I want to see him!”

“Please, Mr. Jung. We're going to request that you stay in bed. Your stomach is still healing.”

“Oh, who cares about my stom- YUNHO!”

As the door opened behind the nurses and Yunho stepped in, Changmin dismissed the two women from the room and followed them out, closing the door behind him.

“Aish, baby! Look at you-” Yunho started, running over and wrapping his arms around Jaejoong. “I could hear you complaining down the hall. God-” Leaning down and kissing Jaejoong’s forehead, Yunho mumbled against his skin, “so damn beautiful, you are. All the time. The most gorgeous thing I've ever seen.”

“I would say thank you, but you haven't seen the babies yet so I won't hold you to that comment.”

As if remembering the vital information Changmin had shared with him minutes ago, Yunho gasped. “Can you believe it? Two girls!”

“I know. Junsu's been training me for this, I'm excited!”

“Where are they?” Yunho glanced around the room, noticing that the subject in question was nowhere to be found. “I haven't seen them yet.”

“You passed out!” Nudging Yunho off of him, Jaejoong touched the bump on his lovers head. Leaning up, he kissed it and smiled. “Silly. That's okay. They're gorgeous. Really small, actually. When I first saw them I didn't know what to think. I could have cupped my hands and they would have fit in them. Then I remembered they were almost two months early... so I haven't held them yet. Changmin told me to be patient and we'd be able to go and see them together.”

Rubbing Jaejoong’s almost flat stomach, Yunho sighed. “How are you?”

“You're the one with a knot on your head.”

“I know but, I mean, overall. How are you feeling?”

“Excited. Scared. Agitated. The usual.”

The door creaked and Jaejoong leaned to look around Yunho.

“Ah! Hello, Park Junsu.” He greeted.

Junsu smiled. “Oh, I see you're busy. I'll go and see the babies, then.”

Yoochun who had been standing silently behind, rolled his eyes and allowed himself to be dragged away as the door closed behind them.

***

It was safe to say that the group of young men that had stayed together over Jaejoong’s seven months were more than patients, co-workers and doctors. It was no surprise that after the babies were released from the hospital four weeks later, Junsu requested to move closer to Jaejoong and Yunho in case any help was needed.

When Lee Jun-Ki finally got around to getting a plane ticket, Changmin was ecstatic and Jun Ki and himself called in a hotel room not too far away so that they could stay a few weeks longer. Changmin's job wouldn't allow him to move so soon, but he promised to visit on off days.

It turned out that the only truly difficult part of the whole baby process was the name picking.

Junsu had offered up a whole slew of American names that Jaejoong couldn't even begin to pronounce, and Yoochun had offered a few twin names that were Korean. Cho Hee and Chun Hei were what they finally settled on.

***

Yunho had become infatuated with the baby girls and their happiness. He spent every minute of each day either working on one of his new novels or playing with the girls.

Changmin and Yoochun had stepped aside while Junsu gave Jaejoong more pointers.

After a month, a regular routine had been formed and Jaejoong had gotten used to his life with children.

But there was one thing he couldn't dismiss.

Putting Cho Hee in bed, he actually had time to think about what had been niggling at his brain for the better part of a whole month.

As he put her back against the sheep covers and pulled a blanket up over her lower half, he sighed.

Having four in the house was draining. His time with Yunho was extremely limited. Because of the fact that two of the four people in the house couldn't take care of themselves, this made time between the two parents scarce. There was always something that needed to be done for either one or the other, and when it got done, everyone in the house felt like sleeping.

Yunho was probably already in bed now.

Switching on the baby monitor, Jaejoong leaned over into the crib and attempted to kiss Cho Hee before sauntering over to the crib on the other side of the room and kissing Chun Hei.

“G'night.” He mumbled, stepping quietly out of the room and closing the door to a slit behind him.

Yunho was asleep in their bedroom when Jaejoong arrived, as expected. Smirking at the image of Yunho's body all crumpled and disfigured in his sleeping position, Jaejoong took off his shirt and walked over to his dresser on the hunt for his small sets of sleeping pants.

There was something about the memory of his large Pajama pants from when he was pregnant that made him feel obligated to keep them. It was as if having Children in the first place was a miracle as well as one of the highlights of his life. He figured he should keep them if for nothing more then to look at them when the going got tough and remind himself that his life had been good regardless of situations. Though the reasoning was ridiculous Jaejoong was just under the impression that he should keep them anyway.

When he had successfully found a pair that fit him he slipped off his pants and put on his Pajama bottoms, walking over to the bed to go to sleep.

As he crawled onto the mattress, he leaned over and kissed Yunho quickly, laying down and covering himself before clapping and watching as his lights went off.

He lay there for what seemed like hours before he felt the bed shift beside him. It shifted suspiciously again a moment later and suddenly there was a heavy weight atop his own body.

“Yunnie?”

“Hey, baby.”

“What're you doing? Did I wake you up?”

“No.”

Jaejoong sighed happily as he felt a pair of cold lips press against his chin.

“You missed, cutie monkey.”

“Oh.”

Again, Jaejoong felt lips press against his cheeks.

“Missed again...”

Leaning up and grabbing the sides of Yunho's face, Jaejoong kissed Yunho, their lips touching briefly before Jaejoong began to laugh.

“Why are you awake?”

“I'm not tired, baby Asparagus. Are you?”

“A little bit.”

“Babies are a lot to take care of, huh?” He asked curiously. “But they're worth it.”

“So worth it.” Jaejoong agreed.

“But what to do... when I'm not tired and I'm alone with my husband in bed? The kids are asleep and the lights are off...”

Jaejoong shrugged and clapped careful of Yunho's face. The lights came back on.

“I've got an idea. How about you read a book?”

Yunho laughed, running his hands through Jaejoongs hair and leaning in to kiss him. “I don't like that idea.” Jaejoong shrugged again, wrapping his arms around Yunho's bare chest. “And look,” Yunho continued. “We're both already half undressed. It's a sign, I swear.”

“A sign that it's still summer weather outside, right, butterball?”

“You're the turkey!” Yunho shrieked, taking his hands and ruthlessly tickling at Jaejoong’s sides.

It was in an instant that the other man dropped his arms and began to writhe and twist under Yunhos fingers.

“Yunho! Yunho! Stop! Haha, I can't - Haha - breatheee...”

“Make me stop!”

Laughing crazily, Jaejoong nudged Yunho's shoulders to the best of his ability. When Yunho finally felt the need to let his husband breath, Jaejoong wiped his eyes, glaring playfully at his lover before rolling his eyes and smiling.

"I guess I should... really take any opportunity I can get to be close to you, right?" Jaejoong asked when he finally obtained enough air to be coherent.

Yunho smiled, kissing Jaejoons collar bone. "You can be close to me anytime you want to be. I'm always, at most, a room away. Okay -- well, a call away, to be more realistic."

"I... yeah. Alright."

Yunho smiled. "Just call me, Sugarcube."

Jaejoong blinked. "That ones new."

"I know, candy lips. Now how about we get down to business?"

Scoffing, Jaejoong turned away. "What business is this you speak of? I never agreed to any 'business'."

Yunho laughed, covering his mouth. While it wasn't easy to forget they had babies now, it was definately easy to forget to keep it down. Years of goofing off and playing around after bedtime hours weren't habits that could be easily broken.

"Fine. I'll sleep!" Yunho mock-pouted, lip jutting out and body falling sideways onto the matress.

"God! What a drama queen. Fine!"

Yunho looked hopeful, sitting up quickly. "Fine what?"

Jaejoong winked and licked his lips before answering, "we'll do what you want tonight."

***

And so months later, when Jaejoong’s world started spinning again, and he found a Park Yoochun rummaging through his cupboards clearing out all unhealthy foods, he wasn't surprised.
