At my age, having strong possibilities of not finding the one in the immediate future, I'm still vowing to be a hopeless romantic, so started my collection of love stories of real life couples to inspire the possibility and hope. Read on.

HOW WE MET

As you know... well, those that have been following "our story" since we met, we've gone through some unusual ways for us to get here and now.. and where we'll be in September. We actually believe our story as a fairy tale and it really was one considering how we met, knowing where we had come from and where we were at the time we met. I was born in Korea, moved to California at the age of 15, somehow made my way into working for an architectural firm, Rossetti in LA, but based in Michigan. He was born in Italy, moved to Canada at the age of 11, made his way into studying and working in Michigan and started working at Rossetti just recently before we met in Michigan.
For those who don’t know our story, we met while I was on my “business” trip to Michigan office for a project and we somehow got stuck working side by side in the kitchen area where they had set up two temporary stations. What was more interesting was the fact that he had just come back from a couple of months of visit to Korea for a project from his previous office and I was starting my plan to venture off to New York. And there we were, in Michigan, green-eyed boy meets a brown-eyed girl… and our friendship began.

One thing he’ll definitely be embarrassed for me to tell you is that at the end of that trip, as I was returning back to LA from that trip, he had come out to the airport to say “proper” goodbye and surprised me completely. I think that was the biggest surprise in my life, even bigger than “will you marry me?” And ironically, I had stated in my goodbye note to him at that time that I probably will not be coming back to Michigan again and it would be a bet. Well, here I am, planning our wedding from Michigan. I guess we know who lost that bet.

After that goodbye, we had to say many more… What had started as friendship, we kept on and grew to long distance relationship through phone calls and email from LA to Michigan and then after few months of that, I moved to New York where we accumulated some major airline mileage just to see each other. Although we were closer than me being in California, it was still a flight away.

Then, a turning point that occurred in New York for many last year also gave me a new perspective on things in my life and one of the decisions that came out of such life-changing event, deciding to move closer to where my heart was… and here I am… and here we are… Looking back, we cannot deny God’s wondrous work in both of our lives as well as in our relationship. To us, it’s a fairy tale, prewritten and real, but a fairy tale come true.
