insightful comment. i like that.. mindful. i wish more people give mindful people more credit. in a day where inhibition is out the door and people are ruled by hedonism, it's pretty old fashioned.
I think hedonism is old fashioned. Give me passion, both subtle and exceptional, not some heroin-like addiction to constant hyperstimulation. I hate to sound judgmental, but I think hedonism is the pursuit of the joyless and unsatisfied.
people these days sometimes cannot tell the difference between passion and hyperstimulation. that's a by-product of a generation that lives on instant gratification. i agree with you about hedonism, it arrives from boredom and an overstimulated life only ends in boredom. you must have arrived at this conclusion from first hand experience, no one can feel this deeply about something without having walked it himself.
I suppose I have to a degree. Everyone struggles with those instant gratification demons. I lust after pretty women I know nothing about and I crave nothing but junk food some days. I don't believe in avoiding every temptation, mind you, I just believe that if you're mindful, you realize that you don't always want to go the direction your compass is pointing. Figuratively speaking...haha
What I want are the feelings, not the objects, but it's usually the objects I most crave.
