So I just had a phone call from a dear friend of mine in another state, and the poor woman, a single mother of three, with a daughter entering her sophomore year of college in a big name university, is being harassed and persecuted at work. My friend is an experienced nurse, at a hospital in the Heartland of America. She is very professional,

I didn't even read the other comments before I responded...so I hope I am not repeating a bunch of stuff.

But..first she needs to keep detailed notes of all converstations, who they were with, what time they occured and who said what. Depending on her state, she may be able to record coversations with only one party knowing. For example, in Arizona, as long as I know I am recording the conversation, that is all that is necessary. If she can get a pocket recorder...do it. Radio Shack sells devises you can attach to your phone to record conversations.

Next, she needs to hire an attorney and prepare her wrongful termination action. I hate to say it, but based on what you are saying...that is most likely on the horizon.

Next, she needs to try to find a member of the media that she can go to and tell her story. Best way to do it would be to get the reporter to kget all the details a head of time. Then the second she gets fired, she releases the story...shit have them follow along.

This is utter crap and completely unacceptable. Let me know what hospital CEO I can send a letter to.

I was waiting for you to check in. I knew this would get your dander up, as it did mine. I was thinking of writing to the paper in her area myself, and alerting them to this sorry situation. I'm fuming!

Yes it sounds exactly like a witch hunt. It is outrageous. If she is comfortable at least disclosing the State, I will research the statute and find out what the rules are regarding the recording of conversations. She needs to start recording this shit.
