A long pointless story with a happy ending

Just got home after another ten and a half hour overnight drive. D and I got in a huge blow up argument in Des Moines because he wanted to stop and spend the night but I wanted to press on. Mainly in order to preserve the girls' sleep schedule. I drove the rest of the way (had already started driving past KC) so he couldn't really complain too much. Except he didn't sleep at all and so i really did have to drive. It was pretty shaky the last 30 miles but we made it safely home around 5:30am. Of course we can never do the carseat to crib transfer successfully, so both girls woke up and Evie did not want to go back to sleep unless I was holding her. Did I mention Jane had already fallen asleep on me? Evie was snoring loudly right in our ears so I took pity on D and told him to go sleep in the guest room. I did manage to fall asleep with arms around both girls and got a couple of hours. Jane sat up wide awake at 8:30am, the little stinker. D is still sleeping and I am trying to stay awake until he arises.

My morning was made immensely better though by finding a package of Cheryl and Co cookies on my porch. I proceeded to eat several in order to stave off tiredness. It was such a wonderful surprise and once again arrived just when I needed it. And the tin it came in was super cute. Thank you, thank you, thank you to my LJ RAOK pal silence182. And I am glad you liked your stuff too! :) LJ ROAK was so much fun. Definitely one of the high points of my holiday season.
