(no subject)
It does seem that when it rains, it pours...
Just on the tip of the iceburg..yesterday, we were at the park and I was going down the slide with Avery on my lap..her little foot somehow got stuck in between my leg and the (skinny) slide..rubber sole, plastic slide...we were almost to the bottom, but my body kept going and her foot didn't. :*( I didn't think it was that bad, but she started crying and wouldn't stop...so I set her down to see if she could walk and she just collapsed. I decided to take her to the hospital with Ariyana in tow..he didn't think it was broken, apparently she still has cartlidge-type stuff in her foot, not bones...but he wanted to do an x-ray anyway...so we did, and nothing was broken..but he said that if she still couldn't walk tomorrow (today) to bring her back in to get casted in a splint. It's really swollen today and everytime she even tries to stand, she cries. She can limp on it, but she's only 16 months, so she's not that coordinated. They called me this morning and we're taking her back in in a couple hours to get it put on. Hopefully that will ease some of the pain and allow her to get around a bit more.
I can't reach Chris, I couldn't reach him yesterday either...ALL while this was happening. He's working in a place where there is absolutely no cell service. The only time I can talk to him is when he gets close enough to town that his phone starts getting service, at the end of the day. So, I'm doing this on my own. Avery can't walk, so I either have to carry her, sit with her, put her in her highchair, or make sure she's got enough toys to keep her occupied. I have no clue how long it will take at the Dr's today, but it was so hard yesterday with 2 kids...we went to the office, then down to get the xray (where Ariyana had to wait outside the room by herself because of the radiation danger), then back up to the office..amidst the checking in, waiting, etc. And Ariyana whining because she had to leave the park. The Dr. was very nice to see her at 4:30 though, right before he was supposed to go home..and we ended up not leaving until about 6:30pm. I'd ask one of my SIL's to watch Ariyana today while I take Avery to get her cast, but it's both of their daughter's birthday party, which I'm not even sure we'll be able to go to tonight. I haven't even got them presents..so I'd feel bad anyway.
Oh and my car wouldn't start this morning...Ariyana was supposed to go to preschool, and I called my brother-in-law to come jump it..but that was 3 hours ago, and he's still not here. I just called him and he had an arrest or something (he's a cop)..needless to say, she didn't go to preschool which she was very sad about. He said he'd be here soon though.
Soooo, I put Avery down for a nap early because we are supposed to be there during her normal naptime, Ariyana is watching Little Einstein's, and I'm just waiting to get my car jumped..oh, the reason it's dead is because Chris popped the trunk and it was open (just a tiny bit) all night, with the trunk light on. Lovely.
And this is only the tip of it all.
It is a beautiful day though..SO nice out, I can't believe it! It was about 65 yesterday, I was actually hot outside!
