Guardian Log 13 - Hardware Failure. [Accidental video.]

Jan 13, 2012 02:59

[Video snaps on, and one can see Miria and her partner in one of the offices of DATS' Headquarters.]

Have you still been having those episodes?

They haven't been happening too often, but it feels like they have been getting worse when they do.

Pain in the ass. It makes you too unreliable. I wish whatever was causing the problem would just ( Read more... )

she really could use help right now, meta: depowering, glitch attacks

We're in office room two-one-five of main HQ.

[Miria's coughing turns to gagging.]

Oh shit... Haku, hurry please! I can't carry her like this!

I'm on my way! Please, hold on Miria!

[Miria manages to look at the D-comm's screen for a moment before suddenly dry heaving. Tears formed in her eyes from the pain she was feeling in her stomach.]

Haku...

[Haku is going as fast as she can down the hall, bowling people over just to get there]

I'm almost there!

I'm there already... I took a short cut...

There's a short cut--

Augh! Nevermind! I'm nearly there!

[All the coughing, and gagging seem to calm down for a moment, and all that is heard is Miria whimpering. Then...]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

[Miria screams out sharply as electrical arcs suddenly zap across the HSAT's flight pack and sparks burst from one of her missile launchers. Smoke starts to float from the gynoid's back.]

[Haku skids in to the room, boots sliding on the floor. She drops to her knees next to Miria, but seeing her in that condition she's almost instantly at a loss for what to do. The sparking is not only frightening, it might prevent her from being able to connect with the HSAT to even see what's going on.]

Miria! Miria, I need to know what's happening! Try to talk to me, please!

[in the background, Ciel begins realizing objects from her d-reader, scanning and repair equipment - things they might need]

[You're asking the patient to diagnose themselves, Haku. Miria didn't know what was wrong with her, and her VERAM unit wasn't responding to her. She couldn't bring up system management or anything else right now. All she new is that everything hurt so bad that she felt that she was dying, the world around her was swimming, and she was feeling very scared right now.]

don't know... [Miria suddenly tenses up. it feels like something is tearing right through her.] Ahh.... AAUUGGGHHH! [The HSAT then suddenly heaves hard and vomits up a mess of internal fluids, and a few chunks of burned out hardware. Miria then passes out.]

[Haku's VR visor isn't picking up anything except static, Miria's frying systems effectively blocking anything she has that could potentially read and diagnose. She grabs Miria's wrists as she starts to fail, calling out to her frantically.]

Miria! Miria, hang on! Don't--!

[too late. Haku turns to Ceil, trying hard not to panic. The fact that Miria is a friend aside, if Rei lost her adopted sister...

No. She can't think of that. Not now.]

Do you have the scanner set up? I'm only getting static!

I do, I do!

[Ciel finished setting the power supply, and scrambled to the readout, looking to see what information it gave]

[As the scanner worked it would show that the gynoid's system was in chaos. Several control systems had been destroyed, and Miria's 'reactor' appeared to be generating energy spikes through out the HSAT's body. There were pieces of hardware clashing with each other, and VERAM unit was scrambling to try to keep everything tearing itself apart. In the flight pack, the missile launchers, still loaded with missiles, where in danger of blowing up. This was all complicated even further by the fact that thanks to Miria's assimilation of Naju's technology, her hardware didn't use anything resembling normal electronic architecture.

The only good news was that the power surges had not reached Miria's brain case yet. But, if they did it could result in anything from memory loss to death for the HSAT.]

... Haku, come look at this.

[she stepped back so Haku could get a look at the read outs]

There's something destroying parts of her system... her system's at WAR with itself... her power supply is in danger of sending the whole thing up! We have to disconnect all of these before she suffers memory failure!
