I...I've been learning a lot...at cooking club. What with it being the Holidays...I...I wanted to try to make some treats for everyone...without using my ability.

I tried Fruit Cake. I don't...I don't understand...why so many people don't like it...

I...I think this looks pretty good...

While the cake does look very nice and I'm certain it taste delicious as well, it's not what is considered a fruit cake in a traditional sense. A fruit cake looks like this:



It's made with chopped candied fruit and/or some dried fruit, along with nuts and spices, and then soaked in alcohol. Some call it an acquired taste, which is why a lot of people dislike it. I personally don't mind it, but I do think it's something that you want just once a year.

Well, technically any cake with fruit in it can be referred to as a fruit cake, but the one I showed you is the one eaten specifically during Christmas.

But yes, I do have a recipe for it in my holiday cookbook. You're more than welcome to use it if you like. I'll even offer my assistance with it since I need to start on my holiday baking anyhow. So this can be the first thing that gets made.

It's pretty hard to ruin flour and egg. When's the last time you made anything that tasted bad? Just don't do whatever you did then, and you're golden.
