Seventy Third Memory

It doesn't make a lot of sense to have everyone forgive each other...than make enemies of your best friends. This month is just as crazy as the rest, and there's still a little over half a month to go. With the theme of forgiving, though...Even if I don't...really trust Marishka...as well as a couple of others That kind of mentality...can't be a ( Read more... )

That is awfully optimistic.

It's better than being depressing.

Ah, depends on how superficial the optimism is, doesn't it? I do not know of many who would say something like that and mean it.

guardianhime August 11 2009, 02:34:06 UTC
I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. There wouldn't be much profit in that for me.

I did not wish to insult you, I was merely musing.

Oh no. I don't feel insulted.

Don't feel that you've meet too many honest people, then?

Thinking of the Major, because it's lulzy. der_freischuetz August 11 2009, 03:03:10 UTC
Oh, quite to the contrary, they're usually just not saying things like that.

XD Yuuki wouldn't like that. guardianhime August 11 2009, 03:09:10 UTC
It's an ideal anyway that I'd like to strive for. I know everyone's circumstances are different. My own life is drastically different from what others have lived, so it's a hard thing to judge fairly. I don't think there is a fair way.

Heh, probably. But she doesn't need to know~ der_freischuetz August 11 2009, 03:29:01 UTC
Indeed, but I fear I'm not reaching the same morally high ground. Some things can't be resolved and some things can't be forgiven.

Why did Alucard and Integra-san want you dead, Lieutenant?

Reply

filter der_freischuetz August 11 2009, 04:30:43 UTC
Well for once, Alucard is Samiel, the devil of the hunt, and Samiel kills Kaspar at the end.

The second reason is a bit more complicated than that, but is basically that I'm part of an organisation and this organisation has a fight with Hellsing, which was started fifty years ago when they nearly destroyed us entirely. I don't think they care about me personally so much, as about the fact I'm a part of the organisation. See, this is why forgiveness wouldn't work here.

...You know, it all depends on perspective. They'd tell you, I've killed a dozen Englishmen, I'd tell you Samiel happily slaughtered me and all my men. Both is correct, but which is more important, more right? That depends on who you ask, doesn't it? If we want to discuss morality, that is.

It would depend I think on if the killing was senseless.

Oh my, really now.

There is a war at home, Miss Kurosu, and we were ordered to defend the ship that was aquired from the enemy, while they tried to take it back. Killing is what is done in a war - that may not be an optimistic viewpoint, but it is realistic.

There isn't a war here, though...

I realize it's something that is not always possible, and not everyone is able to walk the same path. It's just the ideal I'd personally like to strive for.

Indeed, though we still stand on different sides. This can only change if one of us goes traitor and could you imagine our Fräulein Integra abandoning Hellsing and joining me? What an amusing thought!

How sickly noble that is.
