I-I suppose brushing her teeth too is a near impossible task.

Their teeth are floated once a year. That's typically all the dental care they receive.

S-Showing that I don't mean it any harm and am actually a gentle person is my first step.

In my experience, the indiscriminate offering of food only makes the horse's ground manners worse.

Because they expect something for nothing. If you're going to offer food to an animal that's already dominant to you, present it as a reward, not a gift.

So I just have to show her I'm dominant?

I'm not much of a scary person. I think she just picked up a bad personality from her owner.

Then make it clear to her what behavior is unacceptable, and reward her for the behaviors that are desired, and for God's sake, if you don't know what you're doing, have someone who does help you before you get your arm broken.
