...You may have noticed the police force is missing a head of department. If you took it it might be significantly easier to gain the trust of the police force beyond my own word. Especially if you want to run for Warden.

Generally it goes to a senior officer in the force who's willing and capable of handling it. The current senior officer has already declined the position once.

I mean to run your nomination past her before I set you in officially, if you decide you want it.
