[police filter]

We have two problems, of varying degrees of severity.

One: the reported missing persons have all been recovered, with one exception. It's more than likely that this exception is unrelated, considering how unanimously the others were released. Mohinder Suresh has been issuing apologies to those released, which ( Read more... )

You have a good number of people rightly upset with you, Dr. Suresh.

As they should be. Terrible does not begin to describe what I've done. The question is what they plan to do about that.

At least you recognize it. What are you expecting them to do? You robbed them of their liberty for a week.

I have an outstanding request from one of your abductees for your arrest.

Nobody is more aware of what I've done than myself, miss, I assure you.

For what purpose? To rob me of my own liberty for a week? A request to press charges is one thing, but a request to arrest? I don't know that I will be able to 'come quietly.'

I'll bear that in mind.

Some might find that fair. You'll note you haven't been arrested yet. And if I receive requests to press charges, for assault, kidnapping, or whatever other crimes, I'm to presume you will come quietly? I assure you, in my world if we find a kidnapper, we don't wait to find out whether the kidnapees feel like pressing charges or not to bring them into custody.

And some might find that pointless.

I would come quietly. Under normal circumstances I dislike physical confrontation. Notably, recent circumstances were not particularly normal. But I would like to note that this isn't your world. Nor is it mine, of course.

I should hope not.

I'm very aware this isn't my world, or yours, or anyone's here. But the one rule that everyone seems to have in common, no matter what world they come from, is that everyone has the right to live their own life, with as little infringement from others as possible. I could have already deployed people to bring you into headquarters, and I haven't. I'll probably get criticized for not doing so.

Not everyone. My experiences have been slightly different.

Do you want me to thank you? I can come in, if that's what you want. But not yet. I've finally come upon something which may fix what I've done to myself which caused this. After I've administered it-- I don't want to be in public as I am.

Most people's usually are.

No. I'm letting you know that as soon as someone comes to me with the intent to press charges, you'll be expected to come in, fix or no. However, I've no intention of denying you your solution either. I don't think the public particularly wants you the way you are either.
