Thank you. It's not that I couldn't do it if it was required of me; I've been offered something similar back home. But there are more qualified people for the job.

Of course. When my old Commander told me I was up for promotion to Major, I turned it down immediately at first. But he gave me this whole lecture on how it isn't for me, it's for the People, and then I had to accept the desk job. But it never pushed through, and in a way, I'm kind of relieved. It's better that we enjoy our positions, because then it shows in our work-and vice versa.

Ah, that's not quite...what I meant.

My job's always been a desk job, at least in part, I'm afraid. But for the most part it's been something I've enjoyed.
