It's good to hear that the police force is reaching resolutions with criminal activity. Finally, it seems like we have a good amount of control over things.

There is something that's bothering me though. What plans are in store for Ophelia?

And it's at times like these that we can't afford to get sloppy, else it can all fall apart. But I'm glad to see that we're pulling dangerous people off the streets as well.

Ophelia is to be detained in the prison until the date of her trial for murdering Anita Blake. Beyond that, I cannot say. She was imprisoned once before, before my time as Chief of Police, and as the trial system has not seen much use up until now I can't give you a more definite answer on what that might result in.

If we managed to get this far, then I hope we can keep is all together without something bad happening. A lot of hard-working people are devoted to keeping things in order, so I have faith in things staying controlled.

That is alright. I was just curious, more or less. Someone such as her constantly keeps me on edge, which is why I'm interesting to see how her case goes, from start to finish.

I would hope so. But it's not necessarily things within the force that need to be guarded against, unfortunately.

You're not the only one. But in this case I'm sure it'll be fairly easy for you to follow along- Ophelia was never one to do things quietly.

You have a good point. Any opposition that threatens the peace of City must be taken care of first. Stopping those who wish harm, while also maintaining a balance of our own, it's a tricky thing to do.

Yes, I noticed that she is very straightforward with her ways. However, after conversing many times with Ophelia, I feel as if something is off about her. Then again, perhaps it's just me being defensive about this matter. Forgive me if I'm stepping out of line with this, but if she is pressured to talk before her trial date, I would like to be present for that session.

Precisely so. That's what makes the ability to listen to both sides of an argument without bias so crucial for members of the force. But asking that of every person is a little unreasonable.

She's mentally unstable. It's not just you, the way she got onto the force in the first place was by announcing that she was joining. Pressured to talk- why would you want to be present for such a thing? I should hope that that won't be necessary, as she has already admitted to the murder of Anita Blake, but your request is noted.

I'm not suggesting that we ask everyone either. It's impossible to do that, after all.

So I've noticed... I think she only joined for the battles and the possibility of getting away with questionable behavior. Information, of course. And perhaps I'm a bit curious as well. Thank you for acknowledging my request, Lieutenant Hawkeye.

((ooc: this might seem silly, but is your icon supposed to be an Aladdin one? XD?))

Ah, no, it's more ...musing than anything else, I'm unfortunately affected by today's curse. My apologies.

No need to think it, she stated as much when she gave her intent to join. Being pressured to talk has long been known to be an inaccurate method of extracting information. I doubt Ophelia will be any different. Acknowledging is no problem. I cannot promise to fulfill it.

[ooc; FFFFFF ARE YOU SERIOUS. That stupid Aladdin icon keeps showing up. I can't see it at the moment though- last time I cleared my cache and it went away /hates on lj Isn't it the most random thing you've ever seen?]

...? I see. You have my condolences then.

I was unaware of that, to be honest. My assumptions were coming from things and conversations I witnessed on the Network. I don't intend to pressure her to talk. If conversation comes normally, then so be it. If not, then there's no real loss. It's alright. I'm not getting my hopes up, nor am I disregarding the idea completely.

((ooc: I KID YOU NOT. It's still there for now, sadly. And yes, it's a very random thing, especially considering who's journal it's on. Maybe it's implying the Hawkeye needs to be happy more? :3?

My discretion could be better today, it's difficult to watch even your own thoughts.

When she joined, she stated that because going after 'monsters' was what she does, it would be better for us to have her on our side than not. Although apparently she's still a bit of a wild card no matter whose side she's on. ...Good.

[ooc; I-I thought it was a browser thing ;; /weeps. yeah inorite, of all the icons in all the world that I'd never seen before, it goes for a goofy Aladdin icon. Hawkeye always needs to be happy more, the world conspires against her.]

Perhaps you should evade the Network for the rest of day, if possible? It's very hard to control unwanted thoughts, while trying to manage multiple conversations at the same time.

Perhaps that's what makes her so risky to deal with. By being unable to identify her as either good or evil at given times, it's hard to predict her moves. To a degree, at least. It's slightly disappointing that she has great potential, but a mental imbalance to counter such skills.

((ooc: I think it's a weird LJ thing, since I've seen them do this before. It could be worse, but I'd still like to know where it came from. Lots of people in the City wish the world wouldn't be against them, so she's not alone. :3))

I'd hope I still have the presence of mind to shut the device before I say anything really out of line, but that's probably wise.

I doubt it's ever so simple as saying 'good' or 'evil'- the world never works in black and white. She is certainly difficult to predict.

[ooc; orz eljay. Seriously! I wonder who has a random Hawkeye icon showing up instead of their goofy Aladdin one |D]
