Still job hunting, though I expected that. I have to apply for extended benefits the second week of next month. No idea how long that will take but hopefully Obie's RI unemployment will start by then. No internet at my place, but they do have a really neat thing here like the monthly cell phones without a contract, only it's for internet, cable and land line phone. No contract or deposit, if you don't pay you go without internet.
I've spent the last week fiddling with my resume and emailing it to my temp agencies. Because I spend so much time over at my friend Travis's house, I helped his girls clean up. We completely redid the living room and back bedroom and then flea bombed the house. Total took about 3 days. Every week night we alternate what we are doing, either taking the dog out to the dog park or going to the beach for a few hours of night swimming.
I have found nirvana. Peace and serenity is sitting on the beach watching the last of the sunset blue fade from the sky, a huge white crescent moon leaving a single white ribbon of light on the ocean water, smoking the hookah on a grass mat and drinking real southern sweet tea and laughing it up with good company and friends. That was my evening last night. Thank you Andrew, AJ, Melissa and Obie. It was amazing.
Night swimming is so neat once I get past the initial overwhelming OMG WHAT DID I STEP ON?!?! It's apparently an art to streak from the beach into the water nude without running into clumps of people beach walking. The water is warm and the waves are soft in the gulf. There are little teeny tiny micro shrimp that when you startle them they glow gold and silver. Yay phosphorescent mini-shrimp. We play games with them. It's fun. And finally someone else has seen the weird crinkly seaweed that glows electric blue when you take it out of the water and touch it. It literally looks like it's being electrocuted. So neat. The fish nibble on your feet and legs, I had one kiss the top of my foot.
So far we have averaged about 2 hours on the beach each night we have headed out there, so I figure 3-4 times a week, 2 hours a night of swimming will give me good exercise. The other nights we spend about that amount of time at the local dog park with my friends' husky. It's too hot to go when the sun is up, the poor dog just melts. We furminate him every time we take him out there so he is FINALLY blowing his old coat and growing a better one. He's a year and a half old and lanky as hell. He hasn't started filling out much so we are trying really hard to put good weight on him.
So far that's most of the last week and a half in the Clearwater/Largo/St. Pete area. I'm having a good time, all I need is a job. :) Today is cleaning my own house and grocery shopping. Yay.
