Going Green/Raw Health

Apr 26, 2009 21:25

So about a week ago or so, Obie and I started the Raw thing again. Things have been going very well! I posted previously about my neti pot. I also picked up a skin brush (horse hair and a wooden handle). It's nice to brush all over with right before a shower.

I'm still working on increasing my fluid intake during the day, it's difficult to drink enough water. I'm working on cleansing my kidneys. I have kidney pain every morning when I get up. Some days it's much worse than others but even the good days are rough. I'm hoping to lessen that problem.

4 days in a row so far, very productive and extremely active. For me, that's nothing short of a miracle. If I overdo it one day I'm crippled for a few days, sometimes a week. I've had the most amazing energy, the drive to go out and DO things has been incredible.

When I first restarted all of this, I couldn't shake the soul consuming hunger. I wrote to my raw food group to ask if I am missing anything, they mentioned adding more protein would help. So far it has. A little bit with each meal, either in the form of whey powder in my smoothies or a handful of nuts with a salad or yogurt with fruit and hemp oil. We are still eating a warm meal at night but we are trying to make it as healthy as possible. Lean chicken, veggies, going light on the complex or white starches/carbs.

I'm still considering cutting my hair off. I want it short and spikey, specially with the weather getting warmer in leaps and bounds. I just haven't done it yet. :)
