God, this was so beautiful. I love all of the undertones and how Adam just really doesn't care. And the end of it, “Next time it’ll be loaded,” omg. Also, this is believable to the point it's painful - I genuinely think that soulessness would do that to you.
The twin wrongnesses of their violence and apathy are spine-crawling and delicious in a way that I wouldn't have imagined. I think I could happily read way, way more of this. But for now, I'm just going to mem forever and roll around in this like a hot, twisted blanket.
