Rose hadn’t gone to mass this morning. She knew she should, but she’d quite possibly - okay, definitely - overexerted herself training yesterday, and moving, even walking down to the church, seemed like way too much effort

Jaina really did try to keep in contact with people in Fandom when she had a chance, especially since her time was moving extra fast. Today she decided it was Rose's turn, and since she was currently traveling from Planet A to Planet B, she set aside some time to stop strategizing and make a call.
"You infected me," Rose retorted, grinning widely. "Jaina! Where are you and when'd you change your name to Skywalker?" Yup, couldn't help the bad joke.
"Hey, I'm just curious!" she teased back, laying back on the pillows. "I happen to be in palace housing at Court. It's weird. I know. What I don't know is where Tralus is."
Not that any explanation of the location of that planet...or city...or galaxy would really mean much to her.
"I'm okay. Back to running all over the galaxy again." Another plus of the time-speed: people in Fandom didn't have to listen to her complain about being grounded from missions after Panem for more than a week or so. "What are you up to? I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever."
"When you say 'back to', does that mean you're like 40 now?" Rose checked. It was a possibility with Jaina. "I mean, you don't sound that old, but this whole galaxy to galaxy thing might fuck up the phone lines."
She shook her head, grinning. "Let's see, Lissa performed a miracle, Dimitri's a dhampir again, Lissa's queen, and no one suspects me of murder anymore. It's been a good summer."
"The last two things I had not been caught up on yet. Please do so," said Jaina. "Last I knew Lissa was in the running but wasn't supposed to be, or couldn't end up in the job...?"
She laughed. It'd been a long summer, and half the time she couldn't remember two weeks ago...which might've been due to the pain meds, sure, but it was a good excuse.
"Sorry, I completely forgot when I last talked to you - and don't think I didn't notice you didn't deny being forty," she teased. "Yes and yes. Except her dad was apparently a cheating bastard and left a kid other than Lissa. Dimitri and I tracked her down and got her to Court. So Lissa has a family to support her."
Rose made a face even though she knew Jaina couldn't see. "...my life sounds like a soap opera."
"I'm twenty-eight!" she said, making sure to get that in there this time. At least, she was twenty-eight till like November or something. "Though it doesn't sound too soapy. I've heard of worse." She was trying to be helpful.
"And I got shot in the heart while revealing the true murderer to Court and presenting Lissa's sister?" Rose tried, mostly amused now. "But you're right...it still doesn't compare to your insane family."
Which would be why Rose's phone was ringing.

Which was a minus of the time-speed, too.
