Room 419 - Wednesday Late Morning - Afternoon

Rose scowled at the pile of clothes still on her bed. They were cute things - tops and skirts and tighter jeans that had been fun to wear around Fandom but didn't have a place back in Montana. Nearly everything she'd packed had been completely utilitarian. The stuff that she could wear for training for years in the cold or wet and not wear out

This was Jaina's first trip back to the dorms since she'd moved into town, and it was definitely weird. It was weirder to go a floor further up in order to say goodbye. It just added a little surreal element to it.

Upon seeing the note, she said, "I guess you figured out what to do with your stuff?"

"Hey, it's a dorm," Rose replied, giving Jaina a smile as she came in. "Everyone likes free stuff."

"I don't remember that being part of dorm life," she said with a tiny smile. Granted, her last dorm experience had been with the Killiks, and yeah, you didn't share free clothes with them. Because they didn't wear clothes.

"Yeah, but you Jedi people are all about no possessions, right?" she teased. "Probably different from the usual dorm situation."

"Sure, use logic against me," she grinned. "Why are you not taking this stuff?"

Rose looked at it, the memories of everywhere she'd worn the pretty things rising up. "No point in having stuff like this as a guardian. I just need practical clothes and the uniform."

"Which makes sense," Jaina admitted. "A lot of my stuff got donated after graduation for more or less the same reason. Does this mean no strappy shoes?"

If she wasn't taking any, she'd send Rose a pair regardless. Seriously.

"No strappy shoes," Rose said with a shrug. "I'm lucky I had this year to wear all the cute stuff." She could try to convince herself a little harder there.

"And you wore it well," Jaina assured her. She was still sending the shoes. "But it's just clothes. Your awesome'll show no matter what you end up in."

"Hell yes," she agreed. "I know that. So what's it like being back in the dorms after all this time? Did you think it was going to be different?"

[solo_sword]

"I don't know what I expected," she said, looking out at the hallway. "I feel like something should have changed in all this time, so seeing that nothing has is throwing me off. I got that when I got back to my apartment for the first time, though, so maybe I'll get used to it soon?"

"It's like that when I go back to St. Vlad's," Rose said. "I haven't been a student there full-time for three years, but it's all the exact same. Weird. Things should change without my presence!"

Jaina laughed, noting, "Maybe they were just waiting for you to make the changes."

[guardianborn]

"You know? I bet that's it," she laughed. "I'll have to call the interior decorators when I get bck tonight."

[solo_sword]

"Show them who's boss from the start," Jaina nodded. "So, I don't want to take up too much of your time, and by the looks of it you still have stuff to do, so..."

[guardianborn]

"Nah, I'm all done," Rose said, gesturing to the packed duffels in the corner. "Everything else is staying here. I just have to - go."
